Long Haochen stared in disbelief. "Then what kind of Magic Beast should I seek to become my mount companion?"

The Star Brilliance Unicorn said, "You need a companion with the same talent as you. How could such an existence be confined within the bounds of Knight Holy Mountain? The environment here is good, but unless we form a contract, we do not have true freedom. We can never leave this place."

Long Haochen gave a bitter smile. "Then how am I supposed to find one?"

The Star Brilliance Unicorn said, "It is not entirely without hope. Within the grand formation of Knight Holy Mountain is a core teleportation formation. Every so often, new Magic Beasts are teleported here. If those humans allow you to choose directly through the teleportation formation, perhaps you may find a suitable companion. But you might also end up with a low-level companion."

"Thank you." Long Haochen spoke with some disappointment.

The golden light withdrew. After nodding once more at Long Haochen, the Star Brilliance Unicorn turned its gaze toward its own kin.

"A trash's disciple is trash as well, yet you still dream of obtaining a mount like a Star Brilliance Unicorn. What a joke." A disdainful voice rang out. A figure emerged from the forest.

Long Haochen's gaze sharpened, and anger immediately rose in his eyes.

What emerged from the forest was a gigantic Magic Beast over two zhang long and one and a half zhang tall.

This Magic Beast was crimson all over, its body covered in heavy scales. Its head was dragon-shaped, and its body exceptionally thick and sturdy. Seated atop its back was none other than Gui Wu, who had entered Knight Holy Mountain before Long Haochen.

A Crimson Armored Earth Dragon, a draconic subspecies and a mid-level seventh-grade Magic Beast. However, this Crimson Armored Earth Dragon was clearly not yet an adult. Though it could not fly, its combat strength on the ground was extremely formidable. Fire Attribute.

"Do not insult my teacher." Long Haochen shouted in a low voice.

Gui Wu gave a contemptuous snort. "Not convinced? Fine! Come duel me. Don't worry, I won't kill you. At most, I'll just break all four of your limbs." As he spoke, light flashed in his hands. A shield appeared in his left hand, while a spear over twelve feet long appeared in his right.

Knights generally had only two kinds of offensive weapons: heavy swords and spears. Not to mention that he already had a mount, even without the Crimson Armored Earth Dragon, Gui Wu had more than enough confidence to defeat Long Haochen.

He removed his shield and drew his sword. Facing Gui Wu atop the Crimson Armored Earth Dragon, Long Haochen showed no fear. Just as he was about to accept Gui Wu's challenge, a streak of golden light suddenly shot out from beside him.

The dazzling golden light instantly engulfed Gui Wu and the Crimson Armored Earth Dragon. The king of the Star Brilliance Unicorns from before appeared proudly at Long Haochen's side.

Obvious terror immediately filled the Crimson Armored Earth Dragon's eyes. Gui Wu, too, felt an immense pressure bear down on him, and his heart was filled with shock.

Could it be that he really gained the acknowledgment of a Star Brilliance Unicorn? No, that was impossible.

But Gui Wu was no fool. How could he dare contend against this powerful peak eighth-grade Magic Beast? Almost immediately, he used spiritual energy to activate the token. Dense reddish-golden light spread out in an instant. With a flash, he and the Crimson Armored Earth Dragon were teleported away.

The sudden turn of events startled Long Haochen. The king of the Star Brilliance Unicorns slowly lowered its head and nuzzled his shoulder, its gentle gaze seeming to say that the dignity of the Child of Light could not be offended by such a clown who leaped about on the stage.

With a long neigh, the Star Brilliance Unicorn gave Long Haochen one more look before suddenly galloping away. The Star Brilliance Unicorns that had been drinking followed close behind. They spread the wings on their backs and soared into the sky in dazzling golden radiance, vanishing among the mountains in the blink of an eye.

Long Haochen stood there somewhat dazed, but he did not remain immersed in disappointment for long. Since Star Brilliance Unicorns were the most suitable Magic Beasts to serve as knight mounts, both Long Xingyu and Ye Hua had explained their characteristics to him in detail.

Star Brilliance Unicorns were symbols of light. They were naturally kind and gentle, and they never lied. They would defend their companions with their lives, yet they would not slaughter their enemies to the last. In the Holy Temple Alliance, the prince charming in the dreams of young girls was one who arrived riding a Star Brilliance Unicorn!

If it was not lying to me, then I am afraid this journey will yield nothing at all. I can only try my luck through the teleportation formation, or hunt and tame Magic Beasts myself in the future.

Both paths were highly uncertain, but without question, the former offered more opportunities. After all, obtaining a Magic Beast companion through the formation still carried the possibility of gaining a powerful one. Hunting Magic Beasts, however, was out of the question. Therefore, he could only continue staying here and wait until the full thirty days had passed. Besides, although he believed the Star Brilliance Unicorn's words, he still harbored a few lucky hopes. What if some ninth-grade Magic Beast happened to take a liking to me?
