The Spearhead Army led by Long Haochen numbered only a little over fourteen thousand. That was right—just over fourteen thousand. He had brought only the professional fighters from two legions, not ordinary soldiers.

The First and Second Legions of the Federation had identical compositions: four thousand warriors, one thousand knights, and five hundred each of assassins, mages, summoners, and priests. With more than forty thousand soldiers of various branches added to each, they formed two complete legions of fifty thousand men apiece.

As the spearhead driving deep into Devil Race territory, ordinary soldiers would be of far less use. They would also drastically slow the entire force. Thus, the true participants in this operation were only the more than fourteen thousand professionals from the Six Great Temples. Every one of these professionals had been equipped with a mount, regardless of class.

Not many mages, summoners, and priests could ride at a basic level, but they were professionals after all. Their physical fitness far surpassed that of ordinary people, and after a little practice, they could ride as well.

Back when these were the first legions formed after the establishment of the New Federation, the Six Great Temples had selected only elites when assembling them. Among them were some members of the Radiant Angel Knight Order whom Long Haochen had met before.

All the warriors had Cultivation Levels above the Fourth Order, while the powerhouses from the other five Great Temples were all above the Sixth Order. Though there were only a little over ten thousand of them, with warriors making up more than half, these people were the cream of the crop among the Six Great Temples' elites.
