Dragon Slayer Mage Training Base (Part 2)
"Boss, are those dragons from the Western Continent really that strong? Is it worth going to such lengths to deal with them?"
Sordil placed Heradi, who was asking the question, and Anna, who was standing on his other hand, on his shoulder, and then said, "Perhaps in your hearts I am very powerful, but I want to tell you that my strength is only considered bottom-tier among dragons. However, among the dragons of the Western Continent, the vast majority of dragons are at an above-average level in strength."
"What? Boss's strength is only at the bottom tier among the dragons? How strong must the dragons of the Western Continent be?"
After glancing at the officer who had spoken, Sordil began to reveal his own dirty secrets to explain the power of the dragon race of the Western Continent to everyone.
"Let me tell you the truth, we, the Fostadu, were forced to relocate to the Cuyis Tree Sea because we were persecuted and attacked by the warlike dragons. Now you understand the power of the dragons in the Western Continent!"
"Plop"
After hearing Sordil's words, everyone was so frightened that they fell flat on their backsides.
"However, you need not worry. Through my efforts, all the dragons and humans in Ishgar have united, and we will surely be able to repel the invasion from the Western Continent."
Upon learning that all of Ishgar's forces had united to resist the invasion from the Western Continent, everyone's hearts were at ease. Having regained his composure, Kurelle processed and organized the vast amount of information in his mind before asking, "Old... Prince Sordil, your visit to the Western Border Army wasn't just to tell us these things, was it?"
Before Sordil could speak, Heradi, perched on his shoulder, roared, "Kurelle, what do you mean by that? Are you betraying the boss?"
"I didn't mean to betray the boss, I just wanted to find out the purpose of his trip!"
"Then why did you call him Prince Sordil, the boss? Why did you speak to him in the same tone you used when dealing with the waiters?"
"I... I just..."
After a long pause, Kurelle still couldn't come up with a coherent explanation. Speechless, he glared at Heradi, his eyes wide and face flushed, while Hradi glared back angrily. Seeing the two men locked in a tense standoff, the other officers exchanged bewildered glances, unsure whose side to support, and thus remained silent, like wooden figures.
Seeing the situation reach a stalemate, Sordil quickly spoke up to break the deadlock and ease tensions between the two sides.
"You two stop arguing! Kurelle did nothing wrong, and neither did Heradi. The one who's wrong is me. I shouldn't have lied to you."
"How can you blame yourself, boss? You had no choice but to do this to resist the invasion of the dragons from the Western Continent. I believe the brothers will understand you, except for a few people, of course!"
"You..."
Seeing that the two were about to start arguing again, Sordil quickly changed the subject and told everyone the purpose of his return to the Western Border Army.
"Alright! Let's leave the topic of right and wrong here. Now, let me answer the question Kurelle just asked!"
Sordil spoke, Heradi immediately fell silent, and Kurelle also turned his attention to the secret Sordil was about to reveal. In fact, not only the two of them, but also the other officers, including Anna, listened intently, afraid of missing any important details.
"Just as Kurelle just said, besides telling you my identity and the United Front Alliance, I have three other things to take care of when I return to West City. The first thing is to ask you, do you still recognize me as your leader?"
No sooner had Sordil finished speaking than Heradi, perched on his shoulder, roared, "Is that even a question? No matter who you are, boss, you'll always be Heradi's boss!"
"Heradi is right, no matter who you are, boss, you will always be our boss!"
"Right!"
"That's right!"
Sordil looked at his subordinates with emotion, then shouted loudly, "If one day I disagree with the king, will you still listen to me?"
"Of course we'll listen to our boss!"
"That's right, we only listen to the boss! After all, the person we're loyal to has always been the boss, not that damned His Majesty the King."
"Yeah! If it weren't for our boss, I'd still be Bandit in the mountains!"
"Who can argue with that!"
Hearing everyone's answers, Sordil's eyes instantly reddened, and he said in a choked voice, "Thank you for your trust, brothers. I, Sordil, hereby promise that I will do everything in my power to ensure that you brothers survive in the war to come!"
After speaking, Sordil solemnly saluted all the officers, and Heradi and the others, abandoning their usual joking expressions, returned the salute respectfully.
"Boss, you've finished saying what you needed to do first. Now you can tell me the other two things, right?"
Heradi glared at the spoilsport Kurelle, then said irritably, "You're such a troublemaker!"
Seeing the two of them bickering, Sordil smiled and shook his head, then said, "The second thing I want to do is to train each of you to become a mage, and then select some of you with outstanding magical talent to receive training in a special magic."
"To... to train us all to be mages? How... how is that possible?"
Seeing the incredulous look on Kurelle's face, Sordil nodded smugly and said, "That's right, it's about training all of you to be mages!"
"But... but how is that possible? Magic isn't something everyone can master?"
"Haha! Kurelle, you're mistaken. Everyone has the chance to become a mage, but some seize it and become mages, while others miss it and are forever barred from magic. But don't worry, as long as you obediently follow my instructions, I will definitely make you mages!"
As he spoke, Sordil stretched out his right hand and gently swiped across the space in front of him, then took out more than a dozen thick books from the spatial rift and handed them to Kurelle.
"These are books about the basic theories of magic and how to effectively sense Magic Particles in the air. You guys take them and study them first. If you have any questions, you can ask me or Anna. Once you've mastered these, I'll teach you more advanced magic."
Kurelle's hands trembled slightly as he took the books, then clutched them tightly to his chest, as if afraid someone would snatch them away. Looking at Kurelle, who was acting like a miser, Sordil laughed and scolded, "Kurelle, you worthless tightwad! These are all handwritten copies; I can give you as many as you want. No need to treasure them like this!"
Although Sordil had said it was a handwritten copy, Kurelle still clutched the magic book tightly as if it were a gold ingot.
"Wow! You're hugging me really tight! I wonder which guy was doubting the boss just now, and now he's shamelessly accepting the treasured manual the boss brought out!"
Hearing Heradi's taunts, Kurelle's face burned. After a long pause, he finally shouted, "Who doubted the boss! I just want to know the boss's purpose in coming back this time, so I can help him resolve this matter!"
Heradi gave Kurelle a cold glance, then turned to Sordil and said, "Boss, didn't you come back with three things to deal with? What's this last one?"
"The last thing is to select a few of you to accompany me to the Kingdom of Donagunov to attend my wedding with Queen Irene."
As soon as Sordil finished speaking, Heradi and the others exchanged bewildered glances. A few minutes later, they all shouted in unison, "Attending a wedding?"
