The Peaceful Liberation of the Northern Alliance (6)
Auriel City, the Heavenly King Guard resides in the jungle (current time, not Reversal).
"Your Majesty, reconnaissance troops report that a large number of Auriel troops have appeared behind us!"
Upon hearing the report, Gilkunis, who was already losing his patience, instantly lost his temper.
"You naughty boy, the enemy has discovered us. We can't stay hidden any longer!"
As he spoke, Gilkunis gave his friend a wink, signaling him to second the motion. However, having learned his lesson from last time, the Wood Dragon King was much wiser, so he did not express his opinion, but quietly awaited His Majesty the King's final order.
Seeing that the boat of friendship was leaking, Gilkunis could only continue to advise Old Suo with his limited vocabulary.
"You naughty boy, if we let these guys into the city, it will take us a lot more effort to break into it later!"
"Besides, if we deal with them inside the city, then Auriel City will be finished!"
Just as Emerald Dragon was searching for words and organizing his thoughts, another report came from behind him.
"Your His Majesty the King, we have just received a message from King Diphiya and Belserion. The two kings say that they have defeated the troublemakers and successfully taken control of the Kingdom of Kaelum and the Duchy of Veronica."
Upon hearing the report, Old Suo's lips curled up slightly, and then he uttered seven words.
"I understand, you may leave now!"
"Yes!"
After the messenger left, Old Suo said smugly, "Heh! Just as I expected, it seems it's time to put an end to this farce!"
After speaking, Old Suo stood up and said to Gilkunis and Woodman, "Gentlemen, assemble the troops immediately and deal with these uninvited guests!" (Great Owl: Thor, where did you get the nerve to say that?)
Upon hearing Old Suo's decisive order to attack, Woodman was only slightly surprised, but otherwise remained perfectly normal. Gilkunis, however, was different. He stood motionless, like a wax figure, his mouth agape.
Gazing at the sculpture not far away, His Majesty the King blinked, then reached out to touch its breath and feel its body temperature.
"Hiss! Everything's normal, why isn't it responding?" (Old Suo)
Just as Old Suo was about to give him a full check-up, the Emerald Dragon suddenly regained its energy and shouted, "You naughty boy, did I hear that right? You just said... said you were going to kill the other one?"
After being stunned by the other party's nerve conduction speed for three seconds, Old Suo said calmly, "Dad, if you don't set off soon, I'm afraid Old Man Woodman will have already finished the job!"
Upon hearing the other party's words, Gilkunis, returning to normal... well, entering acceleration mode, quickly reorganized the team and led everyone in a 100-meter sprint to catch up with the Heavenly King Guard ahead.
In the Auriel City, in front of the ruins of the embassy
Looking at the Royal Army that had appeared all around him, Talleyrand sneered, "Heh! Your Majesty, you really think highly of me, bringing so many people to capture me."
"Hmph! There's nothing I can do, Prime Minister, you're just too amazing. If I came alone, it's hard to say who would capture whom!"
"Heh heh! This is troublesome!" (The Prime Minister's inner thoughts)
Although he was inwardly panicking, Talleyrand appeared very calm, and when he glanced at someone in the crowd, he became truly composed.
"Your Majesty, the Northern Alliance has been severely weakened by this battle and no longer has the strength to resist that person. You should surrender with me!"
"Ha ha"
"Ha ha"
"Prime Minister, you seem to have overlooked one thing. Now that those two good-for-nothings, Lutis and Krisha, are dead, as long as we deal with you, the entire Northland will coalesce into a completely new force, instead of the loose alliance of the past. Perhaps this force cannot defeat the Erus Kingdom, but it will certainly be able to contend with it without any problem!"
Faced with Pallet's sarcasm, Talleyrand smiled and said, "Your Majesty, it seems you've overlooked one thing. Although I initiated this operation, the person who is in charge of its direction is not me, but that person! Do you think that person will obediently stay at home and wait for news under these circumstances?"
"Hmph! Of course I thought of that, but even the nearest Heavenly King Guard is hundreds of kilometers away. By the time they arrive, you'll probably be minced meat! Of course, that's assuming they can break through the defenses and get here."
Upon hearing this, Talleyrand's heart skipped a beat. At this moment, he suddenly realized that he had indeed been too optimistic and had overlooked such an important issue.
Just when he was caught in a dilemma, shouts of battle suddenly came from outside the city.
"Ha ha"
"Ha ha"
"Pallet, that lord's army has arrived. If you know what's good for you, you'd better surrender immediately, or you might lose your life!"
After Talleyrand finished speaking, Pallet, who had just managed to keep a straight face, burst into laughter again.
"Ha ha"
"Ha ha"
"My lord Prime Minister, you are mistaken again. These are not your reinforcements, but my Azure Elephant and White Gull Legion!"
After exchanging a discreet glance with someone, Talleyrand, whose heartbeat had just returned to normal, drove back onto the highway.
"Now that things have come to this, we can only try to escape first, and then wait for an opportunity to act!" (Talleyrand's inner thoughts)
"Call out"
"Bang!"
Looking at the fireworks in the sky, Pallet instantly guessed that this was a signal for help from Talleyrand, so he immediately issued the attack order.
"Do it! (Pallet)"
"Let's do it! (Talleyrand)"
As two identical words rang out in the air, three-fifths of the Royal Army charged toward Talleyrand, while the remaining two-fifths charged toward Pallet.
Upon seeing the man leading his men charging towards him, Pallet exclaimed in surprise, "It's you?"
"Your Majesty, I'm so sorry!" (The Home Minister)
While fending off the traitor's attack, Pallet asked in bewilderment, "Why? Why would you, who have an irreconcilable hatred for him, betray me and side with him?"
Upon hearing Pallet's words, the Home Minister closed his eyes and then said painfully, "Because my surname Burski!"
"Are you a member of Talleyrand's family? (Pallet)"
"Yes! I am Tak Burski, the second young master of the Burski family."
"So that's how it is! (Pallet)"
Just then, a spear shot out from the gap and pierced Pallet's chest.
Just as Pallet was about to die on the spot, a bluish-white wind blade flew out from the side, cutting the spear and the man holding it into several pieces.
"Phew! I finally made it! (Defense Minister)"
Looking at the Defense Minister had appeared on a building to the side, Pallet asked anxiously, "Lier, how is the situation?"
"Your Majesty, rest assured, the breach in the Prime Minister's residence has been plugged!" (Lier)
"That's good! That's good! (Pallet)"
Hearing their conversation, Tak stared in disbelief and said, "How did you know there was a gap in the encirclement? Could it be...?"
"No! We didn't uncover your identity. It was just that after I realized there was a traitor within our ranks, out of caution, I had Lier re-check the deployments everywhere. (Pallet)"
"Haha! Even the most meticulous plans can have flaws! (Tak)"
Just Home Minister lamenting, the Kingdom's Royal Army, which had returned, arrived, forcing the Rebel Army to abandon Pallet and concentrate their efforts on dealing with the enemy behind them.
In an instant, the embassy, which had returned to quiet, became lively again.
Auriel City, Eastern Suburbs
While Talleyrand and Pallet were locked in fierce combat within the city, the battle here had already ended, and the exhausted Azure Elephant Legion had entered the rabbit cages Old Suo had prepared for them. Furthermore, considering the current temperature, Old Suo thoughtfully removed their clothes to ensure they wouldn't suffer heatstroke and faint.
"You rascal, with our strength, why don't we just storm in? Is there any need for disguise?" (Gilkunis)
Hearing the Emerald Dragon's complaint, the certain steady dog spoke with righteous indignation... well, I misspoke! He said matter-of-factly, "Old man Gilkunis, the situation in the city is unclear right now. If we rush in rashly, we're very likely to be ambushed by the enemy. You and I are strong enough to face that, but the people around us are a different story, so it's best to be careful!"
Having successfully seized the opportunity for revenge, Woodman didn't hesitate to kick someone when they were down.
"Ugh! You old pervert, can't you ever improve? Making such a simple mistake is really unacceptable!"
Although Gilkunis wanted to refute, the criticism was flawless and perfectly aligned with the leader's remarks, so Emerald Dragon had no choice but to swallow his bitterness.
To avoid an awkward and delicate situation, and in order to gain control of the Northern Alliance as soon as possible, Old Suo had no choice but to act as a peacemaker once again.
"Alright, let's hurry up and change our clothes and leave, or we'll be too late!"
Faced with the offer of a way out from Old Suo, Gilkunis gave a haughty snort and then silently went downstairs (to change his clothes).
"How rude!"
After making yet another sarcastic remark about Gilkunis, Woodman, with his crescent-shaped eyes still open, said to Old Suo beside him, "You naughty boy, I'm going to change my clothes!"
Watching the two disappear into the woods, Old Suo thought to himself, "Phew! Finally got rid of those two old rascals. I'm exhausted!"
"Oh dear, I was so focused on relaxing that I forgot to change my clothes!"
After saying that, Old Suo slapped his forehead, then grabbed the clothes he had prepared and crawled into a mud house on the side. (Those of you who frequently camp in the summer should already know why Old Suo chose a mud house instead of the forest, right?)
However, regardless of the circumstances, a quarter of an hour later, the Azure Elephant Legion finally broke camp and headed towards the east gate of Auriel City.
