"I drew the red wooden chip—I'm the King! Brother Sordil, I order you to go catch a fish and bring it back!"
Watching the wildly excited Diphiya, Sordil felt like he'd been screwed over. The lucky winner of the very first round had actually been this little witch. Still, thankfully, she had not fully grasped the rules yet, so he had narrowly escaped disaster. His decision not to explain the rules completely in order to avoid exactly this situation had not been in vain. Thus, Sordil shamelessly and unhurriedly explained to Diphiya:
"Diphiya, didn't I just say that the King can only order others to answer truthfully or take a dare according to their numbers? You can't give orders by calling someone's name."
"Brother Sordil, did you say that?"
"Of course I did! If you don't believe me, ask everyone whether I said it!"
Hearing Sordil's thuggish addition to the rules, Diphiya turned to look at the others. Everyone hurriedly covered the numbered chips in their hands and nodded vigorously. Faced with their collective cheating, Diphiya had no choice but to grudgingly acknowledge the rule and issue a new command.
"I order Number One to answer truthfully, and everyone else must ask one question!"
Upon hearing Diphiya's command, Mevajena nervously revealed the wooden chip marked with the number one and signaled that everyone could ask their questions. As the King, Diphiya naturally asked first, but her question made Sordil and the others fully understand just how terrifying the obsession of a seasoned foodie could be.
"Big Sister Mevajena, my question is simple. Does human flesh taste good? Is it sour or sweet? Salty or bitter?"
"Actually, I don't know what human flesh tastes like either. I think there's too little meat on humans, and the flavor is too strong, so I've never eaten it even once."
"Oh! So that's how it is. I thought you ate human flesh all the time."
Hearing Mevajena's answer, Diphiya spoke in disappointment. Yet Sordil saw a dangerous gleam in the little witch's eyes that seemed to say, One day, I'm going to eat a person and find out. Then it was Sordil's turn to ask a question. He frowned and pondered for a long time before finally asking a question that women in his previous life had hated most.
"Mevajena, may I ask how old you are this year?"
"Um... after this year, I'll be four years away from eighty!"
What surprised Sordil was that Mevajena, who could kill and set fires without changing expression, became as bashful and coy as a young girl when faced with the question of her age. Worse still, because of that question, Sordil received the "death stares" of every woman present. Judging by their expressions, he would probably become the public enemy of all women there and be blacklisted by them. Fortunately, Anna's next question diverted everyone's attention, allowing him to escape another disaster.
"Big Sister Mevajena, is there someone you like?"
Mevajena did not answer directly. She secretly glanced at Sordil, who was lowering his head in thought, then replied, "There isn't anyone I like right now."
Besides, Sordil isn't human anyway, and I don't even know whether I like him or not! Mevajena grumbled inwardly, then calmly accepted everyone else's questions without blushing or missing a beat. However, aside from the questions from Sordil and the other two, the rest were all insignificant things like what food she liked and what color she liked. One round ended, and another began. Perhaps the goddess of luck also loved gossip, because the King for the second round was actually Sordil.
"Ha ha! It's finally my turn to be King! The best part of the game is here—oh yeah!"
Sordil waved the red-painted wooden chip and shouted excitedly, as if he had won millions in the lottery in his previous life. Diphiya and the others were then honored to witness what a true "Tyrant" was.
"Now, as King, I order Number One to answer truthfully. Numbers Two and Three will stare into each other's eyes for three minutes without blinking. Number Four will enter the pitch-black forest for a dare. Numbers Five and Six will prepare food and water for me, then feed me and give me water."
"Brother Sordil, how can you order all of us at once?"
Faced with Diphiya's merciless accusation, Sordil answered indifferently, "I only said that the King could order any member, but I never said the King could only order one person. Besides, didn't you just make everyone ask Mevajena a question?"
After saying that, Sordil looked at Diphiya with an annoyingly smug expression that seemed to declare, "Sordil has final interpretation rights over this game." Faced with this human-shaped Husky, Diphiya could only helplessly follow his instructions and quietly wait for her next chance to strike back. Coincidentally, Number One, whom Sordil had ordered to answer truthfully, was Mevajena again. This time, however, Sordil did not make things difficult for her. He merely asked whether she liked eating fish. Yet even such a simple question sent the innocent girl's thoughts in the wrong direction. Blushing, she said she liked it, then swallowed the grilled fish in her hand.
Next, under Tyrant Sordil's orders, Diphiya and Murellia stared wide-eyed at each other for three minutes until their eyes were sore. In comparison, Lindel and Seraf, who were feeding Sordil, had it much easier. However, the most miserable one was Anna, Number Four. The little girl trembled as she walked alone into the dark woods surrounding them. At this hour, the forest was far from friendly to fragile creatures like humans. This could be called a dare that wagered one's life. Fortunately, Sordil and the others were protecting her from behind, reducing the danger to a minimum. But man proposes and fate disposes—even with such careful arrangements, an accident still arrived without warning.
Not long after Anna entered the forest, a shrill cry rang out from the darkness. Sordil and the others could no longer afford to fool around and immediately rushed toward the source of the sound. When Sordil led everyone there, they found Anna sitting on the ground, while an enormous shadow swayed before her.
Radiance
Without hesitation, Sordil cast an illumination spell. With the light of the magic, everyone finally saw what the shadow before Anna was. Looking at the giant dragon covered in red scales, with a red horn atop its upper jaw, a scar over its left eye, and two right-angled horns growing from the back of its head, those horns densely covered in black scales, Sordil could not help marveling at the wonders of fate. The two of them had been friends in an anime in his previous life, yet they were now meeting in this manner. It seemed the storm stirred up by his seven-colored butterfly was gradually beginning to show its power.
While Sordil was lamenting fate, Diphiya and the others stared dumbfounded at the bizarre scene before them. The red dragon kept circling the crying Anna, constantly trying to comfort her—or rather, begging for forgiveness.
"Little girl, it was my fault for tripping you. I apologize!"
"Little girl, I already said I'm sorry. Why are you still crying nonstop?"
"Little girl, as long as you stop crying, I, Igneel, will do anything! Please, spare me already!"
