What was a library?
It was exactly what the name implied—a repository for storing books.
Riezel had visited the libraries of quite a few factions, so he knew that the library Merlot had mentioned referred to places that housed precious books.
But he did not understand why Merlot had brought up the library at this moment.
"It seems you still haven't realized it." Merlot seemed to have noticed Riezel's confusion. After letting out a soft laugh, she said, "For any faction, a library used to store books is incomparably important."
"Take the Imperial Royal Palace's library, for example. It contains precious books gathered from countless places throughout the Caledohart Empire and passed down through endless ages."
"They include, but are not limited to... guidebooks that instruct others in cultivation, Magic Books recording all sorts of magic, introductory books on various Mage Technology knowledge, and record books documenting hidden history. It contains practically everything."
Merlot's explanation gave Riezel a sudden realization.
He had nearly forgotten that, whether on the Akasha Continent or in the Great Source World, the libraries of major factions were not merely libraries. They were treasure vaults as well.
That was because guidebooks for cultivation, Magic Books recording all kinds of magic, introductory books on Mage Technology knowledge... these were genuine treasures, the foundations that allowed a faction to continue developing.
Even the library in Franzer Villa contained all kinds of Sword Skill Books and Magic Books. These precious books could clearly instruct people on how to train in sword skills and learn magic. They concerned a person's future and could determine their strength.
If a faction did not possess such a place for storing books that guided its internal members' training, then that faction likely would not be very strong, much less capable of growing.
