One army was attacking the city while another defended it. With the city gate and walls as their positions, and the plain before the city as their field, the two sides waged a brutal slaughter. Blood, roars, war horns, screams, and the clash of weapons continuously filled the air, creating an atmosphere of grim bloodshed.
Riezel and the others looked out over the scene in silence for a long time.
