Shuen did not answer Dilles's question. His expression merely darkened slightly.

Just as expected, these despicable bandits had come for that person.

Was this the will of those small-country alliances?

Or were the "rebels" within the kingdom pulling strings behind the scenes?

But regardless of which it was, Shuen had no intention of letting them have their way.

Even if it might result in hundreds of thousands of casualties in the city behind him and countless tragedies, he could not agree.

Because he was Shuen Fati, Queen Tistis's Kingdom's most loyal knight.

"Not talking, are you?" Dilles's face darkened at Shuen's silence. "No matter. Once we kill every last one of you, we can just search Mitt's ruins for that person."

As he spoke, Dilles raised his hand.

"Attack."

The surrounding soldiers immediately raised their weapons with vicious grins, aiming them at Shuen. Their savage appearance made them look nothing like knights who had fought through battlefields. They were more like a pack of brutal bandits.

Shuen silently raised his sword, mentally preparing himself for death.

The situation was beyond saving. By himself, he could no longer turn the tide. In that case, he only hoped to fight until his strength ran dry and die, taking one or two more enemies with him for Mitt's fallen victims.

He was not afraid of death. What he feared most was that person's safety.

He only hoped that, after such a tremendous sacrifice, that person would successfully escape Mitt.

Even if the hope was slim, he wished for that person to remain unharmed. Otherwise, this kingdom might truly be beyond saving.
