This was a skyscraper over a hundred meters tall, with nearly a hundred floors.
Darkness festered within the building. There was no light source, nor was there anyone in sight. It resembled a dead city within an abyss, and even the air felt oppressive and heavy.
The building contained countless corridors and passageways, as well as countless staircases, crisscrossing in every direction. Some led deep underground, some passed through walls, and some stretched high toward a ceiling whose top could not be seen.
Without a doubt, this was not the design of a normal building.
"Tap—tap—tap—tap—"
At some point, the sound of footsteps rang out with extreme abruptness.
The black-haired, black-eyed youth had appeared in the skyscraper at some unknown time. He strolled leisurely through the dark surroundings as though taking a walk through a garden.
"Jigu..."
"Gululu..."
Suddenly, strange cries began to echo out, like monsters growling low or demons weeping.
The youth looked up and immediately saw shadowy figures staggering toward him.
Their appearances were bizarre, resembling beasts and ghosts alike, yet carrying an indescribable sense of absurdity. Their swaying movements made them look like controlled Dolls. Only the negative aura radiating from them told others that they were not harmless clowns.
They were cursed spirits, aberrations born from humanity's Negative Emotions. Ridiculous and ugly, they were not nauseating enough to make one vomit, yet still utterly revolting.
Faced with this group of cursed spirits that hated life, hated humanity, and instinctively wished to slaughter the moment they were born, the youth did not hesitate in the slightest. He continued walking forward at an unhurried pace.
"Ooh ooh ooh...!"
The cursed spirits immediately cried out one after another and pounced toward the youth.
Yet at the instant the cursed spirits lunged, two large dogs suddenly emerged from the
