"Jiang Dali? Hehehe, that name is way too old-fashioned. You can tell at a glance he's some insignificant nobody."
"Looks like he's the leader. Maybe he's an early-game mini-boss. If Master Hu beats him badly later, do we have a chance to swoop in and finish him off?"
"If we kill a mini-boss like this, we'll probably get a lot of Cultivation Points and Potential Points, right?"
When the players saw Jiang Dali coming down the mountain path with a group of underlings, they were startled at first. Then they quickly grew excited, whispering among themselves. Greed and excitement gradually appeared on their faces.
The barefoot feared no one wearing shoes.
These players had only just entered the game and had not learned any martial arts. They truly were not afraid of death, especially when there were benefits to be gained.
In Jiang Dali's eyes, everyone before him glowed with hostile red light. Perhaps the only difference was that the names above the players' heads were black.
"Great Mountain Lord! Great Mountain Lord, save us!"
"Great Mountain Lord, that old dog is too vicious! He broke my hand!"
The five bandits who had been subdued and beaten to the ground cried out in delight upon seeing Jiang Dali.
"Behave yourselves!"
Hu Ling, the martial arts school's head instructor, viciously kicked one of the bandits with a bang. The bandit rolled across the ground like a gourd and screamed in pain.
Jiang Dali's expression turned slightly cold. "Old man, you beat my people right in front of me. Looks like you've had enough of living."
"Hahahaha, what arrogant nonsense."
Hu Ling gave Jiang Dali a cold, sharp look. "You're that greenhorn who just took the position of Great Mountain Lord of Black Wind Stronghold, aren't you? You certainly have a big mouth. No wonder the trash you lead is so unruly, daring to murder people outside the county seat. You have no regard for the law at all!
"Unfortunately, you have no idea that you're nothing but a pawn. Disaster is already upon you, yet you remain unaware. Someone pushed you into the position of Great Mountain Lord just to send you to your death."
"Oh?"
Jiang Dali raised a brow slightly. "Looks like you know something that interests me. Are you going to tell me while you're standing there, or after I beat you half to death?"
"How dare you! Tyrant, take your life!"
Whoosh, whoosh—
Two martial arts school disciples shouted angrily and sprang out together from either side, pincering Jiang Dali.
One wielded a dagger, making silver flowers dance through the air, while the other threw a meteor-like punch toward Jiang Dali's vital points.
"Two little brats of my grand-disciple generation dare come here to die?"
Jiang Dali sneered. His body did not move in the slightest, but Inner Qi erupted and began to whirl throughout his body.
Boom!
His aura surged. His already tall and imposing frame swelled another size, like a demon. His hair burst free from its band, cascading like a black waterfall. Beneath his thin clothes were bulging, powerful muscles—hard, fierce, domineering, and brimming with an indescribable sense of strength.
"Iron Cloth Skill! Inner Qi Realm?"
Hu Ling's expression changed abruptly, and he was greatly shocked.
The players were even more stunned, repeatedly crying, "Holy shit! Holy shit!"
Clang!
Bang!
The instant the attacks from both sides struck Jiang Dali, the tremendous force erupting from within his body shook them apart, dissolving both attacks without a trace.
The two martial arts school disciples were thrown back in horror, stumbling several steps away.
But before they could react—
Their vision blurred, and two enormous palms descended from above, slapping violently against their faces from either side.
Smack—!
The two slaps sounded as one.
The two disciples felt as if door panels had smashed into their faces. Their necks creaked under the strain, their tongues were forced from their mouths, and teeth flew out with them as both men were sent flying.
"Stop!"
Hu Ling was shocked and enraged as he moved to catch his two disciples.
"You think I'll stop just because you say so?" Jiang Dali sneered. He suddenly shook both hands, and with a snap, his sleeves were pulled taut like whips by the rushing force. A willow-leaf dart turned into dozens of black specks, shooting toward Hu Ling and the others like deadly locusts with shrill whistles.
Everyone's expressions changed at once, and chaos erupted.
Hu Ling was alarmed and shouted furiously. His aura suddenly intensified as well. He spread his hands in rapid succession, sending out a series of "whoosh, whoosh, whoosh" sounds as he swept down all the incoming hidden weapons. They fell to the ground around him with a chorus of clinks and clatters.
Inner Qi covered both his palms, turning them into a pair of iron hands. They were as nimble as iron shields in his grip, and the instant he knocked away the hidden weapons, he pounced at Jiang Dali like a tiger.
Yet at that moment, he caught another streak of black light from the corner of his eye. A fierce gust of wind had already arrived in an instant.
"Bastard!"
He spun around in haste, judging its position by the wind, but he still failed to evade it completely. A tearing pain ripped through his left arm.
At that instant, an overwhelmingly terrifying pressure descended along with a massive, towering figure. Jiang Dali's thick arm, its veins winding like chains, slammed forward.
"Take one of my palms!"
With a thunderous boom, a palm force capable of splitting steles and shattering rocks erupted.
Hu Ling barely gathered his qi and threw out his palms in alarm. When their palms collided, it sounded like a burst of thunder. The aftershocks of their force surged like waves. Hu Ling screamed, and his entire right arm twisted at an unnatural angle as he staggered backward.
"Master!"
The martial arts school disciples cried out and tried to rush forward to save him, but the bandits surrounded and attacked them.
Jiang Dali strode toward Hu Ling like a dragon.
Hu Ling hurriedly dodged and shouted, "Wait, wait! Hero, this is all a misunderstanding! Whatever you want to know, I'll tell you!"
A savage smile appeared on Jiang Dali's face, while mockery and brutality glinted in his eyes.
"Too late!"
As his words fell, a violent wind burst forth. He seized an opening and closed in like a tiger leaping across a ravine. His bowl-sized fist came smashing down with terrifying force.
"Ahhh! You've gone too far!"
Hu Ling roared hysterically. His face and palms instantly turned pitch-black. Inner Qi swelled throughout his body as he raised his left palm to meet the blow.
Bang—!
The entire ground shook violently.
The packed earth split apart.
Hu Ling let out a muffled scream and retreated seven or eight steps. Each step left an incredibly deep footprint in the ground. In the end, he dropped heavily onto the ground, both arms hanging limp. The shock had displaced his internal organs, blood seeped from his mouth, and his face was ashen.
"Master!"
Seeing this, the martial arts school disciples all screamed in panic and terror, desperately trying to come to his rescue.
The players, who had long since hidden in the corner, were terrified as well. They had never expected things to turn out this way.
"You thought Black Wind Stronghold was a soft target? You're all asking for death!"
Jiang Dali's face was hard and cold as a steel billet. His palms circled swiftly, and his ten fingers suddenly spread wide. Hidden weapons clamped between them shot fiercely outward in all directions.
In an instant, screams filled the mountain path.
When the hidden weapons stopped, the miserable cries gradually faded.
More than a dozen corpses now lay on the ground, all with pierced chests and split skulls—a ghastly sight.
The players were so terrified that their faces were pale as quails.
Though they were unafraid of death when pushed to desperation, how could they possibly have seen such a realistic and bloody scene? They were completely unable to adapt.
"Die, villain!"
Seeing his disciples dead, Hu Ling was overcome with grief and rage as he roared and lunged forward.
Jiang Dali turned and drew his saber.
Clang-clang-clang!
The nine rings rang together like the sound of death calling.
The thick spine of the Nine-Ringed Golden Saber smashed cleanly and brutally into the back of Hu Ling's neck.
Hu Ling gave a muffled groan and immediately lost consciousness.
"Take him away! Take all of these people away too!"
Jiang Dali pointed at the players and gave the order to his underlings.
The bandits were fired up, cheering wildly as if they had gone mad.
"Great Mountain Lord is mighty!"
"Great Mountain Lord is domineering!"
"May the Great Mountain Lord reign for a thousand generations and unite all the strongholds!"
