History

Jiang Dali was originally the Third Boss of Black Wind Stronghold. After killing the Deathly Scholar, he seized leadership as the Stronghold Lord, later called the Great Mountain Lord; the abrupt transition left the resident bandits fearful and uncertain of their new master. 5 10

Under Jiang Dali, the stronghold began recruiting outsiders—players—and using them for intelligence, labor, combat, and faction missions. Its low entry barrier distinguished it from major sects, drawing players who could not meet the requirements of groups such as Shaolin or Wudang. 12 73

The stronghold first gained widespread attention through its conflict with the Dragon Gate Escort Agency. Jiang Dali openly provoked Chief Escort Du Dajin, and player recordings of the confrontation made Black Wind Stronghold a major topic on the Jianghu Forum. 23 31

Jiang Dali then began consolidating the surrounding Greenwood. He launched the large-scale Dominate the Greenwood – Stage One faction quest, occupied Tuoshui Mountain Stronghold, forced Swift Wind Mountain Stronghold into affiliation, and completed the takeover of the other nearby strongholds. 35 48 51 55

Its expansion attracted escalating resistance. Overlord Hall severely harassed Black Wind Stronghold players and resource sites while Jiang Dali was away, but his return reversed the situation. The stronghold later destroyed the Hot-blooded Guild after its campaign in the Western Regions and retaliated against Overlord Hall. 83 88 124 129

By the open-beta period, Black Wind Stronghold had developed from a local bandit force into Huizhou's Greenwood overlord. It established branches outside Huizhou, absorbed the Four Land Strongholds into the Luoyang Branch, and extended its influence through player recruitment and affiliated forces. 199 250
