Calamities arose from karma.
Karma had neither color nor form, and living beings found it difficult to perceive.
Mortals feared consequences; gods and devils feared causes.
What could not be seen could not be believed.
Karma was illusory and intangible, not created by gods or devils. When heaven and earth first opened, it had already stood tall and immovable.
The true Buddha was compassionate, prescient and enlightened. He spread the Dharma among all living beings, hoping they would awaken to understanding, do less evil and more good, and not fall into the evil paths.
Yet karma was intangible, and living beings did not recognize it, often believing it false. Little did they know that every sip and every peck was predestined.
Karmic retribution never missed by a hair.
It was not that retribution would not come; the time had simply not yet arrived.
Just like this Yin-Yang Dao Seed: long ago, when the Evil Curse had been broken, it had already been buried deep within Xiao Chen's Sea of Consciousness.
