Su Zhe froze where he stood.
Seeming to realize that slamming the table had been a bit too much, Ke Changlin coughed twice, subconsciously rubbed the tabletop with his hand, and continued:
"Sorry, I got a little worked up... Mainly because I've been having nightmares these past few days, dreaming that something came out of the mist, so I'm a little sensitive about this sort of thing...
Anyway, I'm going to change shifts. Eat these flatbreads while they're hot, or they'll get cold soon."
Ke Changlin rose from his seat, waved to Su Zhe and Su Yuan, pulled his military coat tighter around himself, and headed out into the biting cold beyond the door.
Snowflakes drifted in through the gaps in the soft plastic door curtain. Su Zhe stared at the baked flatbread on the table and fell silent.
"What's wrong with you?"
Seeing Su Zhe lost in thought, Su Yuan asked.
"Oh, nothing." Su Zhe snapped back to his senses, shook his head, picked up the flatbread from the table, and took a huge bite.
"How does it taste?"
"It's delicious." Su Zhe chewed the flatbread in his mouth, seeming to remember something as he fell silent.
"It's just... a tiny bit worse than the flatbreads Mom used to make."
Lin Qiye's figure slowly descended onto the mountaintop.
When Lin Qiye returned, the bored Nezha's eyes immediately lit up. He rushed in front of Lin Qiye and asked eagerly:
"I just saw the Queen Mother take action herself. What happened?"
Yang Jian, who was beside them, opened his eyes and looked toward Lin Qiye as well.
Lin Qiye smiled helplessly and recounted everything he had seen and heard.
"The Eternal Immortal Pill was stolen?" Nezha's brows furrowed slightly.
"What exactly is this Eternal Immortal Pill?" Lin Qiye asked.
