Lin Qiye lowered his head and looked at the cup in his hand, lost in thought.
Back on the Pamir Plateau, he had heard Queen Mother of the West say that Odin, the king of the Norse gods, had already defected to the Cthulhu Gods. Add to that Takama-ga-hara, which had been destroyed after being corrupted by the Red Moon, and among the major divine realms Lin Qiye knew of, two had already become connected to Cthulhu.
By that logic, it was impossible to say whether the other divine realms contained anything related to Cthulhu as well.
But one thing was certain: during the century when the mist had shrouded the world, the Great Xia Gods had all fallen into reincarnation and had only fully returned not long ago. That hundred-year gap meant there was virtually no chance they had become involved with Cthulhu. From Michael's perspective, Great Xia was indeed the safest partner to work with.
"So, you want the Great Xia Gods to help you find the true culprit from fifty years ago?" Lin Qiye nodded slightly. "What about you? What do you have to offer?"
"An item." Michael spoke slowly.
"The place where this item is located is rather special. The Great Xia Gods cannot enter it, so your Heavenly Venerables and I have agreed to have you accompany me and bring it back to Great Xia."
The Great Xia Gods could not enter?
That sounded rather mysterious.
"I understand. When do we leave?"
"No rush. We'll go in a couple of days, after your injuries have healed."
"Can I only go alone?"
"You may bring a few trustworthy companions, but there is one condition."
"A condition?"
Michael gazed into his eyes. "Those who enter that place must be free of distracting thoughts and purely devout."
