"Fast speed, long range?"
After deciding to solve this problem through a Devil Fruit, Rosen immediately thought of the name of a Zanpakuto.
Shinsō.
A Zanpakuto with a short, ordinary-looking blade that could freely extend and retract after Shikai, changing its length while increasing its attack speed and power.
Especially after Bankai.
Its extension speed was five hundred times the speed of sound, and its maximum range was thirteen kilometers.
With that kind of speed and range.
Even if Byrnndi World fired at him from ten kilometers away, then used Geppo at a hundred times speed to run another two kilometers, Rosen would still have time to kill him.
As for close combat, he would not need God Killing Spear.
Shinsō alone would be enough.
"Rosen, you're not really planning to listen to Borsalino, are you?"
"Haki, Swordsmanship, and Physical Techniques are the proper path. Once mastered, they will always be your own strength."
"Devil Fruits aren't bad, but they're easily countered and can be lost."
Seeing that Rosen seemed to have been persuaded by Borsalino and was abandoning the proper path of a swordsman in favor of Devil Fruits, Zefa could not help regretting bringing Borsalino along.
"As Long As you're strong enough, you can't be countered."
"As Long As you're strong enough, you won't lose anything."
"Neither Seastone nor the sea itself can threaten you."
Borsalino did not back down in the slightest.
"Watch your words. Don't start fighting."
Seeing his teacher and senior getting increasingly heated, seemingly ready to draw Black Arm and the Cloud-Gathering Sword at the slightest disagreement, Rosen had no choice but to interrupt their confrontation.
"What do you think?"
Zefa stared intensely at Rosen.
"Junior, people need to be adaptable."
Borsalino seemed to be reminding Rosen, but he was actually taking a jab at Zefa.
"My opinion is that I won't choose."
Facing their gazes, Rosen raised both his left and right hands.
"The Swordsmanship of a Great Swordsman, I want it."
"The abilities of a Devil Fruit, I want those too."
"As Long As it is power, I want all of it."
As he spoke, Rosen clenched his fists.
Hearing This, Zefa wanted to say that trying to swallow too much would only leave one unable to digest it, that no one could master every ability at once and bring them all to their limits. But before the words left his mouth, he remembered Rosen's situation.
Three days.
Three Colors of Haki, every technique—he had learned them all.
He had created Still Blood Armor, Qi Body Origin Flow, and Six Paths Immortal Thief himself, and had even comprehended Flying Crane Leg during the time it took to cook a meal.
For anyone else, three days might not even be enough to learn a single type of Haki.
Yet Rosen had used only three days to achieve what many people could never accomplish even across several lifetimes.
Perhaps I'm not wrong, but forcing those beliefs onto Rosen would be wrong.
He is a monster unlike any the Grand Line has ever seen.
Haki, Swordsmanship, Physical Techniques, Devil Fruit abilities—he can reach the pinnacle of every path, and it won't take him very long either.
With that thought, Zefa let it go.
"Junior."
"Do whatever you want."
"As your senior, I'll only offer some constructive advice. If you think it's useful, listen to it. If you think it's useless, pretend you never heard it."
Borsalino gave Rosen a deep look.
He himself was someone who walked every path at once.
Other than Conqueror's Haki, which he had not been born with, he was proficient in Armament Haki, Observation Haki, Swordsmanship, Physical Techniques, and Devil Fruit abilities. Yet apart from the Glint-Glint Fruit, none of his other abilities had reached the limit of their respective fields.
His Swordsmanship was not as strong as Hawk Eyes Mihawk's.
His Physical Techniques could not compare to Garp's.
His Armament Haki was likewise inferior to both of them.
As for Observation Haki, it could not compare to Gol D. Roger's or Barolick Redfield's.
But Rosen...
Though they had known each other for only a few days, Borsalino felt that the junior In Front of him could achieve what he himself wanted to do but could never accomplish.
Master every power system on this sea and bring every single one to its utmost limit.
"I will."
Rosen nodded slightly.
All of it.
A hexagonal warrior.
That had always been his goal, and no one could change it.
But for now, he would naturally craft a Zanpakuto first.
After all, crafting Shinsō by hand was easy as long as one had hands, and it would not take much time.
Unlike Swordsmanship and Haki, which consumed an enormous amount of time.
Even for him, it would take a year and a half before he could stand at the pinnacle of the sea.
Having made his decision and calmed the conflict between Zefa and Borsalino, Rosen, now full and satisfied, turned his attention to his Devil Fruit ability and continued what he had not finished before eating.
As his mind settled, an image gradually emerged within it until it occupied all of his thoughts.
At the entrance to the grand and imposing Seireitei, which resembled a palace.
Jidanbō, dressed in a Shinigami Uniform and built like a giant, bent down and grasped the bottom of the gate with both hands before exerting force with his arms.
The massive gate slowly opened bit by bit until he raised it over his head.
However.
As the gate opened, his expression changed.
"Did something happen?"
The orange-haired, hedgehog-headed youth beside him, also dressed in a Shinigami Uniform, poked his head out from behind Jidanbō's back and looked into the Seireitei.
A captain's haori over a Shinigami Uniform.
Short silver hair, narrowed Eyes that carried the chill of a venomous snake, and a slight upward curl of his lips that gave him the cunning of a fox.
He simply stood quietly at the entrance to the Seireitei, smiling as he sized up everyone before him.
"C-Captain of the Third Division."
"Gin Ichimaru."
Jidanbō's muscles tensed all over, sweat pouring down his face and back like rain.
"This won't do."
"A gatekeeper does not exist to open gates."
"Do you understand?"
Gin Ichimaru stared at Jidanbō with an ambiguous smile.
"I was defeated."
"It is only natural for a defeated gatekeeper to open the gate."
Though Jidanbō was drenched in cold sweat, he still gritted his teeth and spoke.
"What are you talking about?"
"A defeated gatekeeper should not open the gate either."
"A gatekeeper's defeat should mean death."
Gin Ichimaru was still smiling, but there was now an added hint of icy menace.
Then, he said no more and turned to leave. After walking about fifty meters, he suddenly stopped, his back to the hedgehog-headed youth and Jidanbō, and slowly drew the Zanpakuto at his waist.
"What?"
"From that far away?"
"Is he going to throw that short blade over here?"
The hedgehog-headed youth was completely baffled.
"It isn't a short blade."
"This is my Zanpakuto."
Gin Ichimaru glanced back at the hedgehog-headed youth, then suddenly spun around. The short blade in his hand pointed from afar like a venomous snake baring its fangs, and a terrifying pressure burst from his body.
"Shoot to kill."
"Shinsō."
The moment his words fell.
The short blade in his hand extended, turning into a cold silver streak that pierced through the air ahead, stirring up rings of spiraling airflow before shooting forth at a speed beyond sound.
The hedgehog-headed youth's vision blurred. He only had time to raise the Zanpakuto in his hand like a shield before he, his blade, and the giant-like Jidanbō behind him were all sent flying by the incoming silver streak.
Without Jidanbō's support, the Seireitei gate crashed down.
"Bye-bye."
Gin Ichimaru stood with his blade sheathed and waved at the hedgehog-headed youth whom he had sent flying outside the gate.
As for the Shinsō in his hand, it had somehow already returned to its harmless short-blade form and had been sheathed once more.
The sound of a heavy object hitting the ground rang out, and the gate slammed shut.
At the same time.
Gin Ichimaru, the hedgehog-headed youth, Jidanbō, and even the ancient, mysterious Seireitei—all those scenes shattered in an instant.
Like Kyōka Suigetsu, they were illusory and unreal.
Yet after Rosen visualized Gin Ichimaru using Shinsō once, a piece of information appeared in his mind.
Your comprehension is heaven-defying. Through visualizing your own insights and combining them with a Paramecia Weapon Fruit, you have comprehended the Exclusive Skill: Shinsō.
