When Rosen heard Catarina Devon's name, he couldn't help looking toward Zefa.
Though he had only glanced over that list in a hurry, he remembered that Catarina Devon's name had been placed fairly far down.
In fact,
after the gains from checking in at Infinite Hell had dropped below double digits, he still chose to remain in Impel Down. One reason was that the food here was simply too good.
Perhaps because prison staff had to remain in the dark, suffocating, chaotic environment of Impel Down for long periods, where prolonged exposure could easily warp both body and mind, their treatment in every aspect was excellent.
The food and lodging in particular were several times better than the cafeteria at Navy School.
Every meal included Sea Kings, and not the small Sea Kings served in the military academy cafeteria, but medium-sized Sea Kings.
This meant that while in Impel Down, even if Rosen did not check in at Infinite Hell, the food alone allowed his Three Colors of Haki and physical techniques to progress far faster than they had at Navy School.
The other reason was, naturally, that Infinite Hell still held familiar monsters such as Catarina Devon and Douglas Bullet.
If the earlier prisoners could no longer grant double-digit gains to his Three Colors of Haki, then the later prisoners surely could!
It was with that thought in mind that Rosen had remained in Impel Down until now.
