Wind, Rain, Thunder, and Lightning swept through.
The savage weather made all things tremble in fear. Muffled thunder boomed like War Drums; black clouds hung heavy overhead, torrential rain whitened the world, and the dim sky looked like dusk. From time to time, certain places flashed with intense light.
Bai Yujun drifted along, wrapped in thunderclouds as she followed faint traces.
She flew with her body tilted forward, electric arcs flickering around her dragon horns. Whenever she spotted a scattered poisonous ghost, she tossed a bolt of lightning at it.
On the ground, countless human commoners knelt and kowtowed, thanking the divine thunder that had descended from heaven. They cried out the names of all sorts of gods with utmost devotion. Within the storm clouds, Bai Yujun's face remained expressionless amid the lightning. By now, she had long ceased caring how the mortal world viewed her.
Within the black clouds, human cheers could be heard clearly.
"Thank the gods..."
"Thank Heaven for saving our lives..."
Over and over, it was the same few phrases—thanks, along with promises of offerings.

As she drifted along, she suddenly stopped and hovered silently.
Her eyes swept over a large city. The image reflected in her pupils resembled a scan: on the official road below stretched a long trail emitting Plague Qi. A creature saturated with evil poison had passed through, and the traces extended all the way into the city.
"I could smell that fishy, rancid evil poison from beyond Mount Funiu."
Heavy black clouds pressed down. Gale winds and torrential rain swallowed the entire city, raindrops leaping wildly against window paper as they washed away the mortal world's filthy qi.
