Rushing Underground River
Darkness. The river water was icy cold. Sound traveled extremely fast underwater while diving, muffled and clamorous.
The glowing algae flickered unpredictably. Mysterious fish adapted to the darkness were slender, snow-white and slightly translucent all over. Feelers grew beside their heads, their eyes had nearly degenerated away, and they clung to rock surfaces in search of food.
Suddenly.
A light approached from the distant black river.
Bai Yujun flicked her dragon tail and sped through the water. Fluorescence radiated from her body, her eyes glowed red, and she navigated the labyrinthine underground river, always finding the right path.
Inside a vast underground karst cavern.
Perhaps because of excessive rainfall, the underground lake was somewhat murky.
Only a skylight the size of a millstone in the ceiling cast down a bright Light Pillar, illuminating the rocks above the water. The sound of rain echoed through the cavern, though it was actually droplets falling like rain from the skylight's edges.
Splash~
A certain Bai emerged from the water, a two-foot-long translucent silver fish in her hand. After all, she was a predator.
She expertly removed the inedible parts, prepared a bowl of delicious dipping sauce, and gnawed on the fish dipped in seasoning as though eating a scallion. The green peppers were wonderfully spicy. It could not be cooked, or it would lose the fish's natural flavor. Raw fish was the most authentic way to eat it—absolutely delicious.
The scene was bizarrely picturesque.
