Last night, she had forgotten to close the window, and the wind had swept petals into the bedroom.
A heavy rain had fallen in the mountains. The morning was cool, and the cloudy weather was not so hot. On such a comfortable morning, it was only natural to sleep in. No matter when, one could never forget one's lazy nature.
After a while, footsteps thudded on the stairs as Bai Yujun, dressed and still half-asleep, came downstairs.
Holding the railing, she leaned over and looked below.
"Fat Head, stop sleeping. Hurry up and open the doors for business. It looks like customers have come knocking~"
The proprietor's exploitation ruthlessly shattered his sweet dream. Fat Head Cat opened his tiger maw in a yawn, rolled over and climbed up, shook out his fur, and went to open the doors.
Bai Yujun clapped her hands.
The lanterns resting atop the cabinets and tables floated up in flustered panic, hurriedly lighting their flames.
The fat orange tabby raised a paw and pushed open one door, squinting at the sunlight outside and sniffing the air. His nose twitched again, and when he pushed open the next door, it crashed loudly against something. Outside lay a person in a light official armor uniform, collapsed before the entrance with four sabers on his back. His armor had hit the ground heavily when he fell.
The fat tiger felt this was food delivered right to his doorstep, yet also suspected it was business coming to the door. He hesitated between eating and not eating.
The sound of purple sandalwood slippers crossing the floor tiles drew closer from behind.
Bai Yujun held an exquisite round fan over her nose and mouth as she approached, pushed aside the tiger's head, and lowered her gaze to inspect the man carefully.
