After sunset, darkness fell swiftly. Lights appeared aboard the battered, listing ship, growing from one or two faint glimmers into something like a night market in no time. Once night fell, the wrecked vessel seemed to become a bustling venue, as demons, monsters, cultivators, and ordinary people emerged from who knew where and gathered around it.
Yu frowned.
"Lurking by day and emerging at night... We've run into a black market, haven't we?"
The only constant was the dregs at the bottom of the world, numb and waiting for death. Whether human, ghost, or demon, they waited in a muddled stupor. Perhaps even they did not know what they were waiting for.
Feng Ying looked out at the wilderness, then into the ship.
"Let's go in and take a look. We looted plenty of valuables. We can sell off the useless junk and trade it for something useful."
"Wait for me. This weapon is too long and inconvenient to carry."
With a few swift movements, Yu dismantled her spear into three sections and stuffed them into her pack. The cramped confines of the great ship were ill-suited for long weapons, so she kept only two daggers readily at hand.
Once they had finished packing, the two stepped through a hole in the massive vessel, intending to find someone and ask about the ghost market.
There was another world within the ship. They had not even taken more than a few steps inside.
Something flew out of a cabin thick with the scent of alcohol with a bang. It struck the lantern hanging by the doorway, making it sway wildly. A gray, furry figure was hurled out, hit the ground, rolled twice, and crashed into a cluster of refugees waiting for death across from the door, startling a Ghostly Entity crouched
