Although Ortolan had his own ideas, he had no desire to discuss them with Garp. There was no need, and it was unlikely he could casually change Garp's mind anyway.
Even Garp's own son could not persuade that old stubborn fool to cast aside his morals and enjoy a shameless life, much less Ortolan.
Many things were better done than said. Dragon had chosen to strike out on his own, establish the Revolutionary Army, and show Garp and the other Marines.
Ortolan intended to act too, but he did not plan to leave and start his own faction. He would do it right inside the Marines. Once I got strong enough, I'd become a lunatic scumbag. I just wouldn't eat beef, wouldn't eat cilantro, wouldn't eat donuts either. Let's see what the World Government could do about me.
Once Ortolan's kind of "leading by example" produced results, perhaps those unfortunate people like Garp, whose minds were shackled, would finally react.
If they did react, then a great dike collapsing from an ant hole might very well happen.
By the time Ortolan reached the sixth floor of the hospital, Garp seemed to have adjusted his mood. At least his expression was no longer as dark and ugly as before.
The moment the two rounded the corner, they heard a young nurse on the other end of the corridor ask, "What's going on? When I was off the day before yesterday, there weren't this many injured brigadier generals, were there? I miss one day, and the wards are already full? Did something terrifying happen at sea again recently?"
"Shh, don't say nonsense. Nothing like that happened. These brigadier generals and Captains are all students from Admiral Zephyr's Officer Training Camp. They haven't been on any missions lately," another young nurse quickly explained.
