Then Garp pinned him down in a beachside cove and gave him a brutal beating, knocking Ortolan out of his berserk state five or six times in a single night.
The next day, Ortolan finally got his wish and joined his little companions in the Marines' military hospital. His mental state had improved considerably, though. Seeing the delighted grin on his face, anyone unaware of the situation would have thought he was getting married rather than being hospitalized.
