Ch. 1“Playing” the Heroic King from the Start (Part 1) / “Playing” the Heroic King from the Start (Part 2)

After reincarnating as Gilgamesh, Bai Yue poisoned Uruk’s banquet guests to strengthen his imitation of the Hero King. The system’s recognition reached 65%, and Bai Yue considered how to follow Gilgamesh’s legend closely enough to unlock the character card.

  • At his coronation banquet, the young king watched Uruk’s elders and officials disrespect him while they ate and drank.
  • Bai Yue’s poisoned food and wine made the guests collapse and die, prompting the survivors to flee and call for Lord Anr.
  • Bai Yue awoke unharmed and revealed that he had poisoned the banquet with processed Realgar powder, causing arsenic poisoning.
  • The system’s imitation recognition rose from 55% to 65%, partially unsealing the Gilgamesh character card.
  • Bai Yue recalled his death by electrocution while watching Fate and his reincarnation as Gilgamesh in ancient Sumer.
  • Bai Yue reviewed the Imitation System’s rules and decided he needed comparable achievements and a reputation resembling Gilgamesh’s legend to unlock the card.

Ch. 2The Valhalla Conference / Has the Chief God of the Babylonian Pantheon Been Killed?

While living as Gilgamesh, the king used his own power to kill the leaders of two institutions and frightened the High Priest Anr into denying he opposed him. Meanwhile, Brunhilde challenged the gods to Ragnarok to save humanity and then overheard a secret about a human who had killed a god.

  • The king told Anr that he had cursed the people who tried to make him a puppet to death, and Anr fearfully denied sharing their views.

  • Brunhilde recognized that Gilgamesh was human and learned he had used Red Jasper and will-o'-the-wisps to create an atmosphere of terror in Uruk.
  • Gilgamesh sensed the unseen visitors and swung his blade through Brunhilde and Goll, making Goll panic as they remained unharmed.

Ch. 4The Goddess Ishtar Event Is Triggered / This King Likes Custom-Built Cars, Not Sharing...

Brunhilde and Goll entered Gilgamesh’s history to investigate how he killed the Bull of Heaven and a Babylonian Main God. In Uruk, Gilgamesh conquered Kish, Lagash, Ur, and Nippur, but his progress stalled at 90%; then Goddess Ishtar appeared before him and introduced herself.

  • Brunhilde took Goll to the era when Gilgamesh killed the Bull of Heaven, hoping to assess his strength and uncover the secrets in his locked historical record.
  • Gilgamesh returned to Uruk victorious over Kish, and King Agag was executed after being brought to the city as a prisoner.
  • When armies from Lagash, Ur, and Nippur approached, Gilgamesh assigned commanders to meet them, and Uruk conquered all three city-states.
  • Gilgamesh’s progress remained at 90 percent after the conquests, leaving him to wonder whether the missing event involved Enkidu or the Bull of Heaven.
  • Ishtar appeared before Gilgamesh, admired his appearance and bearing, and introduced herself as the Goddess of Nature and Harvest.
  • Gilgamesh remained unimpressed and asked Ishtar, “And then?”

Ch. 5The Bull of Heaven Attacks

Gilgamesh rejected Ishtar’s advances and provoked her into unleashing the Bull of Heaven against Uruk. As the beast devastated the city’s crops, Gilgamesh rallied the people against the gods and left them shouting that the gods were demons.

  • Ishtar revealed herself as a goddess and asked Gilgamesh to become her companion, but he mocked her past lovers and rejected her.
  • Ishtar left in fury, threatening Gilgamesh, who anticipated that she would send the Bull of Heaven after him.
  • The Bull of Heaven, Gugalanna, charged through Uruk’s agricultural district, scorching crops and overwhelming the soldiers who tried to stop it.

Ch. 7He Casually Stabbed the Chief God to Death?

Gilgamesh confronted Sky God Anu after Anu descended to punish Uruk for killing his Bull of Heaven. Gilgamesh bound Anu with a chain that sealed his divine power and killed him with a spear, leaving Brunhilde convinced he could win a victory for humanity.

  • Anu discovered that humans had killed and eaten Gugalanna, flew into a rage, and descended to Uruk while the gods followed to investigate.
  • Gilgamesh stopped Uruk’s people from kneeling and challenged Anu to come down from the sky.
  • Gilgamesh threw a silver chain that bound Anu and sealed his Divine Power, causing the god to fall onto Gilgamesh’s Altar.

  • Brunhilde trembled at Gilgamesh’s power, then celebrated with Goll and declared that he could secure humanity a victory.

Ch. 8A One-Time Noble Phantasm, Progress: 99.9% / Divine Punishment: The Curtain Falls; The Next Character Is...

Gilgamesh killed Anu with one-time Noble Phantasms, but Marduk answered with Divine Punishment that destroyed Gilgamesh’s body and began burning his soul. As the gods threatened Uruk’s people, Gilgamesh’s killing intent made them recoil, while Brunhilde watched in alarm from Akasha’s Chamber.

  • Gilgamesh discovered that Enkidu and Gae Bolg had lost their Noble Phantasm effects after he used them to kill Anu, leaving his progress at 99.9%.
  • Ishtar and the other Babylonian gods arrived, saw Anu dead and the Bull of Heaven cooking, and confronted Gilgamesh, who mocked them.
  • Marduk inspected the ordinary-looking chains and spear, then summoned a black Spear of Judgment to punish Gilgamesh.
  • Brunhilde watched from Akasha’s Chamber as Divine Punishment reduced Gilgamesh’s body to fragments and engulfed his soul in black flames.
  • The gods proposed punishing Gilgamesh’s people, and his soul erupted with killing intent that frightened them and caused Ishtar to curse him.

Ch. 9The Reason for the Historical Discrepancy—A Summoning Is About to Begin... / This King Also Wants to Cast a Vote for Humanity’s Destruction

After Gilgamesh vanished, Brunhilde realized his soul might still exist because he had detected the gods observing him through time. She summoned him as humanity’s first fighter, but his arrival left her bracing for an attack.

  • Gilgamesh’s body, throne, and Altar turned to cosmic dust after the countdown ended.
  • Brunhilde explained that the Babylonian Pantheon had used Enkidu to replace Gilgamesh in history and conceal his killing of Anu.
  • Brunhilde concluded that Gilgamesh’s soul still existed because he had sensed them watching him across time and space.
  • Brunhilde chose Gilgamesh as humanity’s first fighter and activated the Summoning System.
  • Gilgamesh appeared before Brunhilde, whose fear grew as his crimson eyes fixed on her.

Ch. 10He Wants to Convene a “Meeting on the Survival of the Gods”? / He Tosses Out a Pile of Divine Weapons and Turns Them into a Porcupine

Brunhilde summoned King Gilgamesh and asked him to fight for humanity in Ragnarok after the gods voted to end humanity. Gilgamesh condemned the gods’ right to decide humanity’s fate, and as Incubus barged in to insult him, Gilgamesh remained calm.

  • Brunhilde introduced herself and explained that the gods had unanimously voted to end humanity at the Humanity Survival Conference.
  • Gilgamesh said he might also vote to destroy humanity, but argued that only humanity itself had the right to end humanity.
  • Gilgamesh learned that Brunhilde wanted him to participate in Ragnarok, a contest of thirteen gods against thirteen humans.
  • Gilgamesh mocked the gods’ supposed mercy and suggested holding a Gods’ Survival Conference of his own.
  • Incubus kicked open the door, knocked Goll down, and insulted Gilgamesh, who calmly ignored him.

Ch. 11The Sneaky Four Great Demon Kings?

Gilgamesh slaughtered Incubus with an array of divine weapons, then vanished without agreeing to fight for humanity. Brunhilde disposed of the body and encountered Thor, who demanded that the human she summoned provide him with an entertaining fight.

  • Gilgamesh used golden ripples to summon divine weapons, impaled Incubus, and disappeared before Brunhilde could stop him.
  • Brunhilde found that Gilgamesh remained summonable and resolved to call him again when the tournament began.
  • Brunhilde and Goll carried Incubus's corpse away, but Gilgamesh's weapons vanished into golden ripples.
  • Thor confronted Brunhilde over the corpse, and she revealed that a human had killed Incubus instantly.
  • Thor suppressed his anger, told Brunhilde to make sure her summoned human entertained him, and left after sending the corpse away with Mjolnir.

Ch. 12Is the Choice of King Solomon a Trap? / The One-Time Skill “Revelation”

Brunhilde investigated tampering in the Akasha System and decided to examine the suspiciously legendary profile of King Solomon herself. In a vision of Solomon’s past, Bai Yue received the one-time skill Revelation and witnessed God offering him a wish.

  • Brunhilde discovered surveillance footage of Astaroth tampering with the Akasha System and suspected the Supreme Four Pillars were hiding a human candidate.
  • Brunhilde found an extraordinary profile for King Solomon, but she and Goll feared it was a trap based on The Key of Solomon, so Brunhilde traveled to the ninth century BC to investigate.
  • In the past, Bai Yue, living as King Solomon, obtained the one-time skill Revelation during a meeting and was transported to a Divine Temple.
  • God asked Solomon what he wished for, and Solomon chose wisdom; he sensed mockery and malice behind God’s promise to grant it.

Ch. 13A Magic Circle for Ascending to Godhood? / Is His Wisdom Greater Than a God’s?

A king used Revelation to decipher a divine summoning spell and learned how to wield Magic, while Brunhilde and Goll investigated King Solomon’s history. Brunhilde recognized Solomon’s strange Magic Array as resembling the ritual that awakens Divine Circuits, and the chapter ended as the full moon moved toward its center.

  • The king removed a brainwashing program, then used Revelation to understand a divine incantation and calculate how a human could cast it.
  • Brunhilde and Goll entered the Jewish Kingdom’s historical projection and watched King Solomon rule, trade, and wage war.
  • Brunhilde briefly logged out to check that she was not trapped in history, then returned with Goll after arranging for another Valkyrie to keep watch.
  • A year later, Brunhilde and Goll saw Solomon draw a Magic Array in the palace at night.
  • Brunhilde realized the array resembled a Divine Magic Circle used to awaken Divine Circuits, and she wondered whether Solomon could reproduce its effects.
  • Solomon opened a circular section of the ceiling, and a full moon moved toward the center of the array.

Ch. 14He’s Controlling Demons?

Brunhilde and Goll watched King Solomon use a moonlit Magic Array to touch the Universal Substrate and develop sorcery without divine aid. Months later, they saw him expose and punish a corrupt deputy governor with invisible force, leaving Brunhilde eager to investigate the king and the Supreme Four Pillars.

  • At midnight, King Solomon completed a moonlight-powered ritual that let him produce fire, water, and wind, shocking Brunhilde and Goll.
  • Brunhilde rewound the footage and saw Solomon’s earlier experiments kill most of his criminal test subjects, suggesting he had devised the human-compatible array through his own research.
  • Brunhilde explained that Solomon had touched the Universal Substrate but still needed to learn how to wield sorcery, and the footage showed him developing it over the following half year.
  • During a report on border losses, deputy governor Yakos requested funds from Solomon, and Brunhilde recognized that he was lying and inflating the amount.
  • Solomon used an unseen force to cut off Yakos’s ear, crush his fingers, and maim his face, then threatened to tear out his heart until Yakos agreed to confess.

Ch. 15He Controls the Seventy-Two Demon Gods! / Is He Preparing a Mage Army to Wage War on the Gods?

Brunhilde discovered that King Solomon commanded demons of the Seventy-Two Pillars, then followed him into a concealed Mirror Space where people trained with magic under a crimson sky. She and Goll found the city filled with demons and learned that the human groups entering it were preparing for practical training.

  • King Solomon exposed the Sixth Administrative District deputy officer’s collusion with nomadic tribes and had an invisible demon torture him to death.
  • Brunhilde used the Akasha System to identify Malphas and Grasya-Labolas among Solomon’s demon servants, while Goll wondered whether Solomon was connected to a god.
  • At sunset, a vast Magic Array concealed the Royal Capital as seventy-two pillars of light appeared and groups of people entered gates in the city walls.
  • Brunhilde and Goll followed a line through one gate and arrived in Mirror Space, where a crimson moon hung over a demon-filled city.
  • Brunhilde and Goll watched people use magic to fly and leap between buildings as an instructor announced practical training.

Ch. 16The Ruler of Hell

Brunhilde and Goll explored Solomon’s Demon Palace, where Demon Gods taught humans magic, advanced knowledge, and even secrets about angels, while demons trained human fighters. The chapter then revealed how Bai Yue summoned Berial, the King of Hell, and ended with Bai Yue proposing that they cooperate to slay a god.

  • Brunhilde and Goll found Bael teaching humans magic and saw other Demon Gods instructing them in science and forbidden knowledge about angels.
  • Brunhilde pulled Goll away from a room where King Solomon and several powerful Demon Gods were gathered.
  • Brunhilde and Goll watched demons train human magicians in combat, prompting Brunhilde to suspect Solomon was preparing for war against the gods.
  • Bai Yue used the Cosmic Origin’s power over a week to complete a Demon Summoning Array, despite its effects spreading across his body.
  • Bai Yue summoned Berial, who realized the array compelled him to obey the human and became furious at being made to serve him.
  • Bai Yue asked Berial to work with him to slay a god.

Ch. 17Heaven Has Always Ruled Hell / Can King Solomon See the Future?

King Solomon recruited Berial to help humanity prepare to fight Heaven, but Brunhilde and Goll intruded on the historical scene and Berial trapped them between times. The chapter left Berial confronting the two Valkyries while wondering whether they had heard his plans or had support.

  • Solomon told Berial he had gained magic power by studying two pages of a holy book and invited him to rebel against the gods, and Berial agreed to cooperate.
  • Solomon asked Berial to teach humans magic and secret arts and train soldiers to hunt angels and slay gods, but Berial sensed someone watching from the future.
  • Brunhilde found Solomon summoning Berial in the historical imagery and realized Solomon had recruited the King of Hell into a conspiracy.
  • Goll sneezed, alerting Berial to the Valkyries, and Brunhilde tried to escape through the Akasha System but could not log out in time.
  • Berial's power pinned Brunhilde and Goll in the Time-Space Interlayer, and he recognized them as Valkyries of Norse.

Ch. 18King Solomon’s True Goal Is... / “Three Thousand Years from Now, the Kingdom of Magic Shall Descend”

King Solomon recognized Brunhilde as a Valkyrie from three thousand years in the future and deduced that she was preparing for Ragnarok. After he let Brunhilde and Goll return to Akasha's Chamber, Brunhilde realized someone had deliberately led her to discover Solomon and grew excited that she was closer to her goal.

  • Solomon stopped Berial from attacking Brunhilde and identified her as a Valkyrie who had been observing him.
  • Solomon deduced that Brunhilde had come to oppose the gods, that Ragnarok would be invoked, and that she came from three thousand years in the future.
  • Berial withdrew his power at Solomon's request, allowing Brunhilde and Goll to return to Akasha's Chamber.
  • Goll collapsed in relief, and Lantigreese comforted her while checking on Brunhilde.
  • Brunhilde concluded that one of the Supreme Four Pillars had deliberately led her to Solomon and laughed with excitement at being closer to her goal.

Ch. 19The Next Candidate—The King of the East / Not the Great Qin? It’s the Chu–Han Contention!

Brunhilde investigated the mystery of King Solomon’s vanished magical army, then chose Qin Shi Huang as her next candidate and entered the past with Lantigreese. They expected to arrive in Xianyang in 221 B.C., but landed on a battlefield from the Chu–Han Contention instead.

  • Brunhilde examined The Key of Solomon in the Earthly World and found a prophecy that the Magic Kingdom would descend three thousand years later.
  • Brunhilde selected Qin Shi Huang as her third candidate and reviewed his rise, the fall of the Qin Dynasty, and the rumors that the gods had intervened.
  • Goll stayed behind, while Lantigreese joined Brunhilde as they entered the Akashic Records for 221 B.C.
  • Brunhilde and Lantigreese appeared on a bloody battlefield rather than in Xianyang, leaving Brunhilde puzzled about the apparent mismatch.

Ch. 20The Qin Dynasty’s Black-armored Army Makes a Bizarre Appearance

Brunhilde and Lantigreese witnessed Xiang Yu’s desperate stand against the Han army and recognized him as a stronger candidate for humanity’s tournament than Lu Bu. As Xiang Yu reached the riverbank, his halberd activated and a strange door appeared, leaving the sisters facing an unexplained anomaly.

  • Brunhilde identified the battlefield as the Battle of Gaixia, where Xiang Yu’s outnumbered troops fought the Han army.
  • Xiang Yu opened his double pupils and swept his halberd through the charging Han soldiers, breaking their attack and driving them back.
  • Brunhilde reconsidered Lu Bu and judged Xiang Yu to be a more powerful and accomplished candidate for humanity’s roster.
  • Xiang Yu and his cavalry repelled successive Han attacks as the enemy used repeated assaults to exhaust them and herd them toward the riverbank.
  • Xiang Yu planted his halberd, which began flashing before space twisted around it and a strange door appeared.

Ch. 21Artificial Humans in This Era? / On the Other Side of the Portal—The Qin Empire?

A portal brought black-armored Qin soldiers to Xiang Yu, who let a strange figure extract his life before revealing that the figure was a mechanical body carrying his consciousness. After Xiang Yu destroyed a giant Water Serpent with a thrown halberd, he sent his followers through the portal and stayed behind to face a swarm of Demon Beasts.

  • A team of black-armored Qin soldiers emerged from a portal and saluted Xiang Yu.
  • Xiang Yu broke open a box, and the hooded figure inside pierced him with cables and extracted his life.
  • The figure tore off its robe, revealing a mechanical body resembling Xiang Yu, and Brunhilde realized Xiang Yu had transferred his soul into it.
  • A giant Water Serpent charged through the river, and Xiang Yu killed it with a single throw of his halberd.
  • More Demon Beasts rushed toward Xiang Yu, and he ordered his people through the portal while preparing to fight alone.

Ch. 22Summoning Failed—"Unable to Detect This Person's Soul" / Tyrant? Seeking Immortality Through the Sacrifice of Millions of Lives?

Brunhilde watched Xiang Yu defeat the Demon Beasts and enter a portal she could not follow through, then witnessed his abandoned body repel Liu Bang's army before crumbling to dust. Her attempt to summon Fan Zeng failed because the Akashic Records could not detect his soul, so she turned to Xiang Yu's companion Long Ju.

  • Xiang Yu killed the Demon Beasts drawn to the portal, answered their dying question by saying the Qin Empire lay beyond it, and entered the portal.
  • Brunhilde repeatedly tried to follow Xiang Yu through the portal but passed through its image without being transported.
  • Liu Bang's army surrounded Xiang Yu's abandoned body, but its force repelled their arrows before the body collapsed into dust.
  • Brunhilde tried to summon Fan Zeng and learned that his soul could not be detected, suggesting it had been completely erased.
  • Brunhilde chose to try summoning Long Ju, who had stayed by Xiang Yu's side before he entered the portal.

Ch. 23An Industrial Revolution Two Thousand Years Early?

Brunhilde discovered that many souls from the Qin and Warring States eras could not be detected, then attempted to investigate the Great Wall’s construction. Instead, she and Lantigreese found themselves in a 202 BC altered history with steamships and a locomotive, cut off from the Akasha System and surrounded by armed soldiers.

  • Brunhilde found that the souls of summoned soldiers and many people from the era of the First Emperor and Xiang Yu could not be detected, including more than a million who vanished around the time the Great Wall was built.
  • Brunhilde selected the Great Wall’s construction period, but the time jump seemed to fail and returned her and Lantigreese to the Wujiang bank.
  • Brunhilde and Lantigreese saw steam-powered ships and a locomotive in 202 BC, an industrial revolution two thousand years earlier than expected.
  • Brunhilde realized she could no longer contact the Akasha System, while Lantigreese noticed black-armored soldiers approaching with muskets.
  • Brunhilde ordered Lantigreese to fall back as the soldiers surrounded them.

Ch. 24Must One of Them Stay Behind as a Consort? / The World Tree

Brunhilde and Lantigreese were confronted by Xiang Yu in a version of Qin that existed outside Brunhilde’s history, and he claimed the Akasha System had sent them to him. He banished both women as a towering World Tree appeared near Xianyang.

  • Xiang Yu welcomed Brunhilde to the Qin Empire, and she realized the Akasha System had likely been tampered with.
  • Xiang Yu teased Brunhilde by saying she had been given to him as Yu Meiren, then demanded that Lantigreese stay behind in exchange for Brunhilde’s return.
  • Lantigreese stepped forward to stay, but Xiang Yu struck both sisters with mysterious marks and made them disappear.
  • The clouds parted above Xianyang, revealing a towering tree as the chapter described the Fusang Tree, Yggdrasil, and the Kabbalah Tree of Life as World Trees.

Ch. 25Two Characters in Play at Once / Using Brunhilde as a Network Cable?

Bai Yue explained how he created a small Parallel World using the World Tree and hid his relocation of millions of people while ruling as the First Emperor and Xiang Yu. Brunhilde’s arrival offered a way to connect to the Main World’s Akasha System, but he had to keep her in the present to preserve the timeline in which he had already disguised the Qin Dynasty.

  • Bai Yue used the Immortal Realm’s Fusang Tree and empty space to grow a World Tree and create a small Parallel World.
  • Bai Yue operated as the First Emperor and Xiang Yu at the same time, secretly relocating about three million people while concealing the Qin Dynasty’s unusual development from other mythologies.
  • After unifying the Six Nations, Bai Yue developed technology through immortal arts and planned to transfer the results into his small Parallel World.
  • Bai Yue decided Brunhilde could serve as a connection between his Parallel World’s Akasha System and the Main World’s Akasha System.
  • Bai Yue marked Brunhilde so the World Tree would recognize her, and revealed that he had previously used her arrival in 221 BC to disguise the Qin Dynasty.
  • Bai Yue kept Brunhilde in the current era because sending her directly to the future could kill her and erase the events that had already occurred.
