The Ministry of Magic's reinforcements would arrive soon. This was not the time for small talk.
Vincent twisted the handle on the left side of the flying gunboat. "Bode, right? Find somewhere to hide. It isn't safe here anymore."
The muzzles on the ring rapidly adjusted in size, eventually settling at the width of a thumb—two centimeters.
The Ministry of Magic employees reacted quickly, dividing their tasks. Some cast spells, while others deployed Shield Charms for defense.
Vincent glanced at the black basalt around them. Since it could effectively resist magical attacks, it would not be easily pierced. The Department of Mysteries' research was far too mysterious; for safety's sake, it was better to be cautious.
He pressed the firing button, and beams of pure magical energy shot from the ring's muzzles.
These beams were a directed-energy weapon created by imitating the Magical Beams fired by the Serpent Staff in its long-barreled pistol form, combined with the principles of Muggle laser weapons.
They consumed Vincent's own magic. Though far less powerful than Magical Beams, they had strength in numbers and could strike multiple enemies at once.
The thumb-sized pale-blue beams moved incredibly fast. They were difficult for the Ministry employees' spells to neutralize, and when they struck the Shield Charm barriers, they delivered a tremendous impact.
On Vincent's side, however, the flying gunboat's defensive barrier did not so much as waver. Ordinary employees were naturally no match for Aurors.
Bode had been lying on the ground with his head covered ever since the battle began. His expression was incredibly excited, and he stared unblinkingly at the flying gunboat, which combined attack and defense.
Compared to such a perfect work of art that combined Muggle technology and alchemy, wizards' wands were practically primitive fire pokers.
