The students flipped to the corresponding pages according to the table of contents, and Hermione suddenly raised her hand high.
Umbridge grinned broadly and staggered down from the podium to Hermione's desk.
She bent down with some difficulty and lowered her voice so the other students would not hear. "What is it this time, Miss Granger?"
Unlike last week, she had not pretended not to see her. She had most likely already come up with a countermeasure.
Hermione made no effort to hide the disgust in her eyes. "I've already finished Chapter Two."
"Then move on to Chapter Three."
"I've read that too. I've finished the entire book."
Umbridge blinked, then quickly regained her composure. "Very good. Then can you tell me what Slinkhard said about Anti-Curses in Chapter Fifteen?"
Hermione answered almost without thinking. "He said the term 'Anti-Curse' was inappropriate. He said that 'Anti-Curse' was actually a term people used to refer to their curses, because they wanted those curses to sound more acceptable."
Umbridge raised her eyebrows. Though unwilling, she had no choice but to concede.
"But I disagree." Hermione lifted her chin slightly.
Umbridge's eyebrows rose even higher, as though they were about to leap off her forehead. "You disagree?"
Hermione's voice was especially clear, no longer the quiet whisper it had been before. "Yes. I disagree."
