Background / History
Harry endured a difficult childhood with the Dursleys. With Vincent Wayne’s help, he left their home and reached the Weasleys; Arthur Weasley subsequently confronted the Dursleys over their treatment of him 244. The Waynes’ intervention eventually helped the Dursleys begin sincerely accepting Harry 762.
He encountered Voldemort while the Dark Lord was possessing Quirinus Quirrell. Though terrified, Harry resisted and struck Quirrell with the Stunning Spell after revealing his Invisibility Cloak 215.
When Harry believed Sirius Black had murdered his parents, he confronted Sirius at wandpoint. Hermione and Vincent stopped the immediate confrontation long enough for Sirius to explain and for Peter Pettigrew’s escape to become the more urgent concern 747.
Dumbledore later revealed that a fragment of Voldemort’s soul resided within Harry, explaining his scar pain and Parseltongue 363. Harry ultimately chose to destroy the fragment despite the danger; after a three-day coma, he awoke with the fragment destroyed and his scar gone 1263.
Appearance
Harry is over 1.6 metres tall and appears slim, though sustained combat training has given him notably strong muscles 762.
- Messy hair and glasses 1263
- Muscular build that is not immediately obvious beneath his clothes 762
- Formerly bore a lightning-shaped scar on his forehead; it vanished after the soul fragment’s destruction 1263
Personality
Harry is initially shy and uncomfortable with public attention, a disposition Sirius attributes to the effects of his upbringing with the Dursleys 100. He can be deeply fearful, but repeatedly acts despite that fear—most clearly when confronting Quirrell/Voldemort alone 215.
He becomes increasingly self-directed and compassionate. Concern for Draco Malfoy’s situation leads Harry to urge him to expose Voldemort’s presence at Malfoy Manor, even expecting rejection or ridicule 1259. After removing Voldemort’s soul fragment, he emphasizes that his life belongs to himself rather than Voldemort or prophecy 1271.
Abilities & Skills
Defensive Magic
Harry can cast the Stunning Spell under pressure, using it against Quirrell while cornered in the Forbidden Forest 215.
- Reacted quickly enough to discard the Invisibility Cloak and draw his wand during Quirrell’s attack 215
- Participated in physical and resistance training with Vincent 973
Physical Conditioning
Long-term combat training has made Harry substantially stronger than his outwardly thin appearance suggests 762.
- Can visibly flex biceps strong enough to strain his sleeves 762
- His physical strength continued to improve through daily training 1031
Parseltongue (Former)
Harry’s ability to speak or understand snake language was linked to Voldemort’s soul fragment rather than an innate talent 360 363.
- The ability was associated with the fragment inside him and his scar pain 363
- It ceased to define him after he destroyed the fragment and his scar disappeared 1263
Quidditch and Tournament Participation
Harry competed as one of four Triwizard champions and was the only champion to successfully obtain a Golden Egg before the second task 23.
- Worked to decipher the Golden Egg’s underwater clue 1031
- Received a broomstick named Gwendolyn with Dumbledore’s approval 106
Equipment / Items
- Invisibility Cloak — heirloom left by his father and received as a Christmas gift 214
- Gwendolyn — Harry’s named broomstick 106
- Golden Egg — clue for the Triwizard Tournament’s second task 23

- Sirius Black — Harry’s godfather; fiercely protective of him and proud of Harry’s resolve after the soul-fragment ordeal 1263.
- Remus Lupin — family friend who shares memories of James and Lily with Harry and worries for his well-being 762.

- Ron Weasley — close friend who accompanies Harry through major crises, including the confrontation with Sirius and concerns over Draco 747 1258.
- Albus Dumbledore — mentor who reveals the truth of Voldemort’s soul fragment and supports Harry’s decision to remove it 363 1260.
- Draco Malfoy — former school rival whose situation prompts Harry to encourage him to choose his own path rather than remain under Voldemort’s control 1259 1271.
