The attempt at goading was clumsy, but this was the Owl Court, nearly 70% Little Lions.
Vincent, as president, couldn't let them swagger around like that.
"I've been racking my brains lately, trying to figure out how to spend money. Don't give me numbers that are too low."
Draco sneered, "If I win, your Gwent cards are mine."
"That's it?" Vincent shook his head in disappointment. "Your Wizard Cards are useless to me."
Whether comparing sales or profits, it all boils down to financial strength.
Pansy immediately bared her teeth. "Wayne! If you're scared, just say so!"
"Ooh, I'm so scared~" Fred and George squeezed in.
Cedric and Rolf also arrived.
"Gwent has more name recognition than your Wizard Cards. I'm curious what price you can withstand."
"We'll have to take it down, no matter the cost, right? After all, this is an untapped goldmine."
Pure-blood wizarding families generally have businesses. The Gold Galleons spent can be slowly earned back.
Vincent wasn't an impulsive person; there was no way he'd agree to such a childish bet.
"Malfoy, you pure-blood wizards are quite glorious, aren't you?"
Draco could, of course, hear the sarcasm in his words.
It wasn't glorious for four of the Sacred Twenty-Eight to win against a Muggle-born; losing would be even more humiliating.
"Come find me when you can truly represent your families."
Vincent was quite calm, directly hitting their weak point.
Even for Blaise Zabini, the wealth he could control was extremely limited.
So childish, so ridiculous.
Draco clenched his fist tightly. "Wayne, why do you always look down on us!"
"Have you ever done anything to be looked up to?"
Vincent propped his hands on the table and slowly stood up. "Don't mention what your ancestors did; that will only make me look down on you even more."
Voldemort had fallen, and blood supremacy was becoming increasingly unpopular.
If there was anything, perhaps "donating" money to the Ministry of Magic could count, and a timely "awakening" could also count.
Unlike the truly extreme four, Daphne was beginning to hate her origins even more.
Living under a world built on lies was exhausting.
Constantly reassuring herself that she had done nothing wrong, using blood to maintain her position.
The Greengrass family's curse made her feel even more suffocated, like there was no escape.
"We—let's go."
Under countless surprised gazes, Daphne stood in front of Vincent.
"Wayne, you can look down on us all you want, it's best if you always do."
It was a rebellious bravery, completely different from her usual arrogance.
"You're right, I can't represent the Greengrass family.
But listen carefully, the Greengrass family can't represent me either!"
Vincent paused for a moment. "I will keep that in mind."
His gaze shifted to the other four.
Daphne was different from them, who had been pampered since childhood.
Although he didn't know why, he was even more convinced that she could become his breakthrough.
Breaking through Slytherin's stubborn ideology, allowing the Owl Court to absorb them.
"Hmph!" Draco unclenched his fist and turned to leave without a word.
The goal wasn't achieved, but face was saved.
Blaise and Pansy were unwilling, but they followed behind him.
Marcus took a deep look at Vincent, then turned and left with Daphne.
"The Black Chicken Club lost before the battle~"
"President Wayne is still the best~"
Fred and George sat down next to Vincent again.
Their thoughts were simple: as long as they drove these people away, it was a win.
Cedric and Rolf saw further.
This wasn't the end, but a new beginning.
Hermione remained silent the entire time.
She had guessed that Vincent would use Daphne Greengrass as a breakthrough, and she vaguely understood what the Owl Court signified.
On Saturday, the Gryffindor team woke up early.
A notice was posted outside the Quidditch pitch:
5:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Gryffindor Team
12:00 PM – 6:00 PM: Slytherin Team
McGonagall and Snape had already finalized the Saturday schedule, and any repeat of last week's events would not be taken lightly.
Vincent opened his suitcase and took out five long boxes. "Mr. Smith gave us the cost price, so don't go spreading the word, okay?"
He wasn't the one paying the 750 Galleons, of course.
He was just acting as a middleman.
"We know, you've been nagging about it for a week!" Fred and George were extremely pleased with the new brooms.
Including Harry's Gwendolyn, the entire Gryffindor team was now equipped with custom Cleansweeps.
After a brief moment of joy, Wood turned to the blank chalkboard with a dark expression, pointing his wand at it.
The diagrams that gradually appeared were all the new tactics he had been thinking about all summer.
At the very top was a tactic centered around Vincent as the team's core, aiming to quickly score 150 points at the start to ensure an unbeatable position.
"Don't do that, it's putting too much pressure on me."
Wood pointed his wand to the next line. "Fred, George, when you're interfering with the other team, make sure to protect Harry..."
After introducing nearly ten different tactics, he began training the team.
Hermione sat quietly in the stands, studying Vincent's notes.
She was just starting out in Alchemy, currently at the first step: Calcination.
"Can't we sit down?"
"No, Wood will kick you out."
Hermione frowned, turning to the two small heads behind her.
It was Ginny and Luna.
Annoyed, she closed her notebook and moved her seat in front of them.
"Don't be too obvious, Wood's not in a good mood lately."
"We won't." Ginny smiled sweetly, and she and Luna squeezed in behind her.
It was somewhat of a futile attempt to hide, but the seven people training intently in the sky clearly wouldn't pay too much attention to them.
"What are you looking at?" Luna's large eyes focused on the black and white cover of the notebook.
She seemed to have seen the Magical Runes that Hermione's fingers were partially covering somewhere before.
"You mean this?"
Only a small part was visible, but she immediately recognized that it belonged to Vincent.
"Is that Wayne's Magical Runes?"
"You can understand it?" Hermione asked, slightly surprised.
Luna nodded seriously. "I know what it means. It's Wayne's mark, and it contains some of his personal information."
Ginny shook her head slightly at Hermione, indicating that she hadn't revealed anything to her.
A first-year student who had just entered school could actually understand the Magical Runes that Vincent had spent so long researching and writing?
"Property of Nicolas Flamel's apprentice, Order of Merlin, Second Class, Magical Congress Honorary Medal recipient – Vincent Edward Wayne."
Word for word.
Hermione was starting to believe what Vincent had said about talent.
Luna could not only perceive magical things, but she also seemed to have a natural understanding of Magical Runes.
As a top student, it had taken her two days to decipher the notebook after getting her hands on it.
