He had been affected most severely by the Unforgivable Curses. His bodily functions had deteriorated sharply, making him look as though he had aged more than ten years.
"Awake?" Vincent handed him a bowl of freshly brewed potion from his seat beside the bed. "Drink it while it's hot. It'll help your body recover faster."
The soldier stared at the silver-glimmering potion before lifting the bowl and downing it in one gulp.
A scorching wave of heat, like the sun itself, began driving the lingering evil presence from his body. He watched in shock as black smoke continuously rose from him.
Vincent lightly snapped his fingers beside the bed, gathering all the black smoke together.
The potion took effect quickly, and faded just as quickly.
In only a few minutes, the evil presence inside the soldier had been expelled, forming an enormous black sphere.
Vincent clenched his fist. Cracks instantly spread across the sphere's surface as though some immense force were compressing it without pause, until it became a tiny black dot.
He opened his hand, and a flame as scorching as magma sprang up at his fingertips, its edges glowing with a dark orange halo.
"Sizzle—" The tiny black dot let out a piercing sound the instant it touched the flames, as if it were screaming in unwillingness.
After an even more shrill cry, the tiny black dot formed from the evil presence was burned away completely.
