Not long after Scrimgeour and the others left, Nosferatu at the Starlight Men's Health Club revealed his true face.

He removed the Imposter Mask, revealing a bloodless, pallid face.

The attendant at the front desk also removed his mask, his face equally pale.

Nosferatu lightly tapped the face of his wristwatch, and a projected screen displayed a face that would have startled Sam.

"Lord Brad, following your instructions, I have led the guests from Britain to Virex."

"Very good." Bradley Graves, Director of Aurors for the United States Magical Congress in the projection, slowly removed the Imposter Mask from his face, revealing Viktor D. Brad's features.

Seated in his office, he idly toyed with the mask in his hand. "What a marvelous invention. As long as one wears it, even the most experienced Auror cannot see through its disguise."

"Indeed, Lord Brad." Nosferatu bowed slightly. "After putting on the Defender Robes, those guests from Britain even took me for a Muggle. Our kind can finally walk safely beneath the sun."

Viktor set down the mask in his hand. "It is still far from enough. For thousands of years, we have been treated like a contagious disease. Muggles fear us, wizards reject us. One day, we will stand alongside them as equals."

He turned his head, his gaze passing through the window glass toward the bustling city outside. A faint smile unconsciously curved his lips.

Vampires had been hiding for even longer than wizards. Countless times, they had tried to integrate into human society, only for every attempt to end in failure.
