Vincent and Arthur had only just started talking about Flying Boots when Kenny, far away in America, sent a video call.
Kenny was with Jennifer. They had long since finished their graduation trip and were currently preparing for work.
"Wayne, I heard you pissed off the Ministry of Magic?"
Vincent gave him an internationally friendly gesture. "Get lost. Aren't you joining the Magical Congress? How do you have time to contact me?"
"Obviously to laugh at your misfortune—" Kenny was suddenly shoved aside, and Jennifer's pretty face filled the projection screen.
"Kenny's actually worried about you. He saw the video of your Ministry of Magic's Minister giving that speech as soon as he woke up. He said there was no way you'd be brainwashed into becoming a tool, so he immediately—"
"Jennifer!"
The standard time difference between Britain and the United States was five hours. It was two in the afternoon in Britain and nine in the morning in America.
Kenny was as indirect as ever, but his concern moved Vincent slightly. "Relax, I haven't been brainwashed, and I'm not anybody's tool. What kind of storms haven't I seen? A little hearing isn't enough to stump me."
When Kenny reappeared on the projection screen, it was clear he wasn't putting on a brave face.
Besides, Dumbledore had an impeccable international reputation. How could he possibly be a hypocritical tyrant?
Vincent had also earned recognition from the American Wizarding World as a recipient of the Magical Congress's Medal of Honor, and he was the apprentice of the legendary alchemist Nicolas Flamel. He would be welcomed anywhere in the Wizarding World.
As long as the British Ministry of Magic wasn't stupid, it definitely wouldn't try to wipe him out.
Before ending the call, Vincent had his friends greet the two of them.
