Hand-cranked fans, working miniature steamships, wooden flying wings, and many exquisitely crafted scale models of carriages and houses—Lynn even spotted the prototype of a waterwheel in the center of the workshop.
It was a round wooden wheel roughly a meter in diameter. Water continuously flowed down from the reservoir above the workshop, driving the wheel in constant rotation. This, in turn, slowly spun the enormous fan in front of it, providing the workshop's visitors with a cool breeze.
What a waste of resources...
Lynn shook his head. This thing could have been used to irrigate farmland or even generate electricity, yet Lydia had only thought to use it to power a fan.
Seeing Lynn shake his head and sigh, Daren's heart immediately leapt into his throat. Although the little gadgets Lydia made were quite interesting, they certainly could not compare with the alchemical devices of wizards.
Fortunately, Lynn had no intention of keeping them in suspense and spoke plainly.
"I haven't come to buy anything this time. I want to hire you to make something according to some blueprints."
As he spoke, Lynn picked up the model steamship and examined it. The model was exceedingly intricate, reproduced almost perfectly to scale, down to every detail.
From the smokestack to the cabin to the hull, it looked exactly like the steamships he had seen at sea. The only difference was a string behind the cabin; pulling it made the propeller beneath begin to spin.
Lynn guessed how it worked almost instantly, and a smile appeared at the corner of his lips as he asked again.
"I heard Lydia has skilled hands and can make things exactly as requested without the slightest error. Is that true?"
"Of course! I'd dare say that in all of Ieyeta Harbor, no one has finer craftsmanship
