"Alright! Then it's settled." Gamora made the call directly. "We'll handle Ego's human form, and you destroy his core."
"Excellent. I personally guarantee I won't waste the time and opportunity you buy for us."
"When can your people get here?" Rocket looked at Aaron and asked.
"Any time. Just call, and they'll come."
Gamora nodded. "Rocket, you and Yondu get on the ship first. Don't let Ego spot you.
"Slytherin, come with me to the palace and get Drax. He's probably still asleep in bed right now!"
"You need to change the way you see life." Ego led Peter Quill into the great hall. "Everything around us, including that girl, is temporary. We are eternal."
"Doesn't eternity get boring?"
"Not if you have a goal, Peter.
"You came here to find a goal." Ego walked up to an ellipsoid, within which was a scene of his human form meeting a little girl. "I told you that many years ago, I had an undying urge to find life.
"But what I didn't tell you was that when I finally found it, it was so... disappointing."
Peter Quill had been smiling as he watched the two meet within the ellipsoid. To someone as emotional as him, that encounter was undoubtedly beautiful.
But as Ego's words fell, the smile froze on his face. He turned to his father in confusion, finally sensing that something was wrong.
"Only then did I come to a profound realization."
"The yearning in my heart to seek out other life was not so that I could wander among those lives.
"Peter, I found meaning."
With that, Ego raised a hand and lightly tapped Peter Quill's forehead.
As a faint glimmer entered his brain, the endless universe flickered within his pupils.
Peter Quill's eyes widened involuntarily as he
