Wood Elves and the Water Giant, a One-Sided War
"Thank you for the compliment, I think so too." Aaron nodded somewhat shyly, though he felt a little strange being recognized by a lion.
"It's just that you're a little too wary of new things." Aslan paused for a moment, then continued, "Sometimes being a little bolder can lead to unexpected gains."
"After all, it's an unfamiliar environment. You can't be too careful until you're sure you're safe, because I'm not sure if all those stronger than me talk like you." Aaron shrugged. If there was no one in this world who could threaten him, he wouldn't be so low-key.
A smile appeared on Aslan's lips. "That seems to make some sense, but I still reserve my opinion."
"How did you find me? How is the situation now?" Susan asked worriedly.
"The battle plan was barely successful, and the Telmarine suffered more than half their casualties."
"The real battle is about to begin. When I left, both sides were regrouping their forces, and if nothing unexpected happens, they've already started fighting amongst themselves."
"What?" Susan exclaimed in shock, then looked at Aslan. "I don't know why you haven't shown yourself. Narnia needs your help now."
"I will go," Aslan said slowly.
"You... you're going?" Susan was a little taken aback. She thought it would take a lot of persuasion to convince Aslan to come out of seclusion, but she didn't expect it to be so easy.
"The same thing can't happen twice," Lucy murmured, a look of bewilderment on her face. "Aslan showed up to help the Narnian during the witches Narnia' rule, so this time it can't be considered the same thing, because we asked him for help."
"Intelligence is a different story now."
"Your friends have been asleep long enough, haven't they?" Aslan said, standing up and letting out a roar that belonged to the king of the forest.
A majestic roar resounded, and the tranquil forest awoke.
The trees, which had been still, began to sway, bowing slightly in respect to Aslan.
Immediately afterward, the ground trembled, and thick tree roots burst forth from the soil, rapidly traversing towards the battlefield.
"My God!" Aaron stared at the moving trees, utterly shocked. In his memory, even the Whomping Willow hadn't been this exaggerated.
"They're back," Lucy said excitedly.
"Let's go!" Aslan said. "Let's end this war together."
Lucy and Susan exchanged a glance and climbed onto Aslan's back.
The last time they did this was a year ago, but for the Narnian, it has been a thousand years.
"Aaron, you should be able to come along!" Susan said somewhat embarrassedly.
"Just say you don't want to give me a ride, no need to beat around the bush."
"It's really too crowded, but you can ride that horse."
"No need." Aaron waved his hand, and then vanished from their sight in Apparition.
Susan and Lucy both stared wide-eyed. "Is this magic too?"
"This is Space Magic, or in your human terms, Teleportation."
I don't know that kind of magic, so you two hold on tight.
As soon as he finished speaking, Aslan transformed into a brownish-yellow blur and dashed away.
Near the bunker, the Narnian and Telmarine were already engaged in battle.
The Narnian were few in number, but their morale was high due to the success of their battle plan.
The Telmarine were numerous and their morale was relatively low, but they were still a well-trained army and could gain some advantage.
Aaron teleported to the edge of the battlefield, and as soon as he landed, several Telmar soldiers drew their swords and charged at him.
"Oh ho!"
Aaron raised an eyebrow, initially intending to take them all down with a single roar, but seeing their charred bodies, he abandoned the idea.
It's already quite an achievement to escape from the bunker, so using fire against them would be too much of a rip-off.
"Petrificus Totalus."
A layer of pale blue light shone on the group of people, and they instantly collapsed to the ground, motionless, their eyes filled with terror.
At that moment, Caspian suddenly collapsed not far in front of Aaron. General Sophi was pointing his spear at him, his face conflicted, hesitating to make a move.
"Expelliarmus."
A beam of light struck Sophi, causing him to drop his spear and crash into the bunker.
Aaron pulled Caspian up. "No way!"
"You're not dead yet. Have you contacted them?"
"I've found the 'short' (a type of glutinous rice ball)."
They not only searched for the two of them, but also for Aslan.
"Aslan?" Peter, who was fighting bravely, was immediately startled by these words and quickly dealt with the soldiers who were entangled with him. "You really saw him?"
"Oh my god, that lion is even bigger than the legend says."
"When can he come? We can't keep fighting like this."
"He'll have to wait a while, but reinforcements have already arrived."
Rumble!
The trees near the battlefield all came to life, their roots spreading forward like tentacles toward the Telmarine, pulling them one by one into the ground.
The Telmarine had never seen such a sight before, and they were so frightened that they abandoned their armor and fled in disarray.
The arrival of the Dryads tipped the scales of victory in favor of the Narnian, who were greatly encouraged and cheered for their friends whom they had not seen for years.
"For Aslan!" Peter shouted, leading the Narnian in a counterattack.
Puspi was hiding behind the enemy formation, was also shocked by this scene and immediately stopped in his tracks.
I thought that although this battle was a bit difficult, we could still win, but I didn't expect the accident to come so suddenly.
The Narnian reinforcements were outrageous; they were several times more terrifying than their catapults.
"Lead them to the banks of the Yellow River; we have a better chance of winning there," said a general wearing a gold mask.
"We need to regroup and head to Beruna," Puspi shouted. "Retreat, retreat back to the bridge."
The Telmar army took off running as if they wished they had two more legs.
As they fled to the bridge, Puspi and his generals were about to rush across the river when they saw three figures appear on the other side of the bridge, and they immediately stopped in their tracks in shock.
Meanwhile, the Narnian also attacked, trapping the Telmar soldiers on the riverbank.
Across the bridge, Lucy revealed an innocent smile and slowly drew the dagger from her waist.
This action wasn't very harmful, but it was extremely insulting. This was the first time the Telmarine had ever seen such a blatant provocation.
Accompanied by Susan, Aslan stood beside her, the two men and the lion guarding the other side of the bridge, blocking their thousands of troops.
The scene was ridiculous, extremely ridiculous.
Recalling the legends about Aslan, Puspi was caught in a dilemma.
After a moment's hesitation, he still gave the order to attack.
Aslan is a legend, but no one knows for sure how powerful he is. However, the pursuers behind him are a real force.
With our escape route blocked, fighting forward might offer us a chance to survive.
The remaining cavalrymen all went onto the bridge, followed closely by the infantry. Those who couldn't squeeze through went into the water to cross the river.
As the army charged into the middle of the bridge, Aslan roared once more.
The sound waves created ripples on the river's surface, causing the charging Telmar soldiers to involuntarily stop.
Then the water level began to drop, and the river that had been above chest height only reached knee height.
Just as everyone was wondering what was going on, a rumbling sound clearly reached everyone's ears.
Turning my head, I saw a huge wave surging in from ten meters away.
Upon seeing Telmar, both those who had gone into the water and those who had not retreated to the shore.
Faced with such a natural disaster, staying meant certain death, while surrendering to the Narnian offered the only chance of survival.
As for Puspi and the others on the bridge, they sped forward, hoping to cross the river in time and still have a chance.
But as the giant wave surged forward, it transformed into a giant water sprite, instantly increasing its speed significantly.
"Damn it." Aaron couldn't help but swallow, his gaze towards Aslan now filled with awe.
His roar that awakened the Wood Elf might not have been a big deal, but waking up a group of elves who had been asleep for several years was nothing.
But this one is amazing. He can also summon similar elemental Giant, but he can't do it so effortlessly, and he doesn't even have to put in any effort.
Beside the Mizuki Bridge, a pair of emotionless eyes stared at the soldiers on the bridge. The soldiers were terrified and jumped off the wooden bridge in a panic.
The giant water spirit crawled under the wooden bridge, and the water flow formed a giant hand that lifted the bridge. In the process, many soldiers were knocked off by the waves. In the end, only Puspi was left on horseback, facing the death stare of the water spirit alone.
As the water creature's face drew closer, a palpable look of horror appeared on Puspi's face. He hurriedly brandished his Longsword, but the attack had no effect whatsoever on the water.
The giant water creature smashed the bridge to pieces, and Puspi was swallowed by a giant wave more than ten meters high.
The river returned to calm. Countless Telmar soldiers who had crossed the river were killed or wounded, and the rest completely lost their will to fight and chose to surrender.
"Line up by the river."
"You will not be harmed."
"Put down your weapons and take off your armor."
The Narnian received the prisoners methodically, while Peter, Edmund, Aaron, and Caspian waded across the river to Aslan.
Apart from Aaron, the other three looked at the majestic lion before them and, without prior agreement, knelt down in deep worship, their piety and reverence evident to the fullest.
"The kings all kneeling down is quite a scene," Aaron remarked.
"Shut up!" Susan immediately glared at him.
"Arise, kings of Narnia," Aslan said.
Peter and Edmund immediately stood up, while Caspian remained kneeling on the ground, motionless.
"All of you," Aslan added.
Caspian paused for a moment. "I don't think I'm qualified."
"It is precisely because of your humility that I know you are qualified."
Aaron gave him a thumbs up, "You are now the king recognized by Aslan, Narnian will not have any ill will towards you."
Just then, a mournful melody sounded behind them, and a group of rats carried a stretcher over, on which lay their leader, Reepicheep.
"What are you standing there for? Where's the medicine bottle?" Aaron asked weakly. "If we don't save him now, he'll really die."
Edmund snapped out of his daze and immediately took out Lucy's medicine bottle.
A few drops of red medicine were poured into Reepicheep's mouth, and the dying rat immediately regained its vitality and slowly stood up from the stretcher.
"Thank you, Your Majesty, thank you," Reepicheep said gratefully, but as soon as he turned his head, he saw a majestic lion. "Long live Aslan, this is the greatest honor of all."
Just as Reepicheep was about to bow, his body staggered uncontrollably. He instinctively reached behind him and found that his long tail had disappeared, leaving only a short stub.
"Oh no." Reepicheep awkwardly covered his back. "This is so embarrassing. I must ask for your forgiveness. I look so inappropriate."
He looked at Lucy and pleaded, "Perhaps another drop of Potions can cure my paralysis."
Lucy shook her head slightly. "I don't think so."
"Why not give it a try?"
Aslan chuckled a few times and comforted him, "You look great, little guy."
"I'm sorry, Great Lion King."
I'm afraid I must leave, for the tail is the Glory of a mouse.
"I can try." Aaron took out his Wand and tapped it on Reepicheep's tail. A silver rat tail slowly appeared behind him.
"This inspiration came from a Dark Wizard. I'm not sure I can reattach severed arms and legs yet, but I can certainly reattach a rat's tail."
"This..." Ripchip hesitated for a moment, then said in a deep voice, "Let's forget about it!"
This tail is not my honor, nor is it suitable for me.
Aaron's lips twitched slightly as he deactivated his Transfiguration.
He was unusually kind enough to heal others, but unexpectedly he was still disliked.
However, he really couldn't cure injuries like missing limbs. Perhaps he would only have that ability after buying the Horse Talisman. But his next target was the Aaron's Eye, Horse Talisman would have to wait.
"Perhaps you value honor too much, my friend," Aslan said.
"But it's not just about honor, it's also about maintaining balance, climbing, and grasping things."
The group of rats behind Reepicheep drew their swords and pointed them at their tails. "Your Excellency Aslan, since our leader has lost his tail, we have no face to continue to have one."
"Fools, a bunch of fools," Aaron said speechlessly.
"Hehe!" Aslan smiled slightly, "This is not for your dignity, but for the love of all of them."
As soon as he finished speaking, a lifelike tail appeared behind Reepicheep.
Aaron:...
That works too, I was too hasty.
Reepicheep held his tail with delight, "Thank you, Lord, I will cherish it forever."
From this day forward, he will be my symbol of humility.
"Hahaha." Aslan chuckled, then looked at Lucy, "Where is that dear little friend you mentioned?"
Everyone turned to look at the dwarf warrior who was gathering the prisoners. Tumnus seemed to notice the gazes on him and walked over awkwardly but politely, kneeling respectfully before Aslan.
"Roar!"
A roar made Tumnus's heart pound, and he was flattered.
"Now you see him, right?" Lucy teased.
Upon hearing this, Tumnus chuckled, and all his previous doubts vanished in an instant.
