As dusk fell, Aaron's eyes had begun to sting from staring at the Dragon Egg.

At that moment, a shaft of moonlight broke through the clouds and shone through the window onto the Dragon Egg. A tiny crack suddenly appeared.

A faint white radiance spread out through the crack, shining onto Aaron's face.

Feeling the holy yet gentle light, Aaron found his heart incomparably calm. Even his excitement at watching the little one hatch was suppressed.

Yet deep down, he became even more curious about it.

This extraordinary phenomenon at birth alone was enough to surpass most Magical Creatures.

The crack in the eggshell slowly widened, and more and more radiance bloomed from it. Several potted plants in the room were affected as well, gaining a touch more vitality and blooming even more luxuriantly.

"What is this...?"

Jeans suddenly sensed an unfamiliar magical power being released from Aaron's room. Though faint, its quality was exceptionally high.

Without the slightest hesitation, he hurried to Aaron's bedroom. At a time like this, etiquette was the last thing on his mind. If anything happened to the Young Master, he would never be able to atone for it.

But when he opened the door, before he could clearly see what was happening inside, white light splashed across his face, instantly calming his mind.

Not only that, but as the light washed over him, he felt his energy rapidly recovering. Even some of his old ailments showed signs of easing.

What's going on? Jeans thought to himself. Then his gaze fixed on Aaron and the glowing Dragon Egg.

Crack! Crack!

A small white claw poked out from the shattered eggshell. It was not sharp and did not look remotely dangerous, yet it tugged at Aaron's heartstrings and made his heart race.

A moment later, another identical claw emerged. The two claws flailed about wildly, striking the already badly fractured shell with even greater force.

Soft whimpering came from within the eggshell. In the next moment, the shell shattered completely, revealing the little one's appearance at birth.

There were no sharp fangs or claws. Its entire body, including its limbs, was flawlessly white, and its two fluffy ears made people want to reach out and touch them.

Besides that, the little one had a white tail and a pair of delicate wings. The outsides of its wings were white, while the insides were blue.

A few seconds later, the little one opened its eyes. With a pair of spirited black eyes, it blankly stared at the young man before it. Its gaze was gentle and held a trace of delight, as though it wanted to etch his appearance into its heart.

Aaron was the same, though a storm raged in his heart.

He had naturally seen this breed of dragon before—the Holy Dragons ridden by Holy Dragon Knights.

And now it had become his pet. This was truly heaven-defying luck!

At that moment, the little one smiled at Aaron, nearly melting his heart with its adorableness. He immediately reached out and stroked its little head.

The little one took the initiative to press its head against his hand. After lightly rubbing against it twice, it walked over to the shattered eggshell and began eating it.

After swallowing the last fragment, the little one let out a satisfied burp, quietly lay in Aaron's hand, and closed its eyes.

"Young Master," Jeans said softly.

"Shh!" Aaron made a silencing gesture. He was not at all surprised that Jeans had appeared here. Knowing that he had rushed in out of concern for his safety, Aaron did not blame him.

Aaron gently placed the little one on the bed before quietly walking to the door. "We'll talk tomorrow if there's anything. Don't disturb the little one's rest, understand?"

"Understood, understood." Jeans nodded at once. As he looked at the sleeping little one, there was not only shock in his eyes, but also a trace of affection.

He had originally thought that this egg was merely a special breed or perhaps a mutated Dragon Egg. Though rare, it was not particularly extraordinary.

But what had just happened completely overturned his understanding. The energy released during its hatching could nourish the life around it and was even somewhat beneficial to him.

One had to know that it had only just been born. If it grew up in the future, its potential might not be inferior to that of a Phoenix.

Most importantly, it had already acknowledged the Young Master as its master. From now on, it would be Aaron's—and thus the next head of the Gaius family's—most loyal friend. It had to be properly cared for.

As Jeans left Aaron's bedroom, he was already considering what sort of menu he should prepare for the Young Dragon tomorrow.

After locking the door, Aaron quietly lay on the bed.

"System, can I see the little one's Attribute Panel?"

"Viewing it for the first time requires one Magic Point," the system said flatly. Its voice contained not the slightest emotion, yet it somehow reeked of money, like a thoroughly unscrupulous merchant.

Aaron: ...

"Damn it! Why don't you just rob me? Do you know how many Magic Points I get for signing in every day? It's either one or two! Can you really bear to rob a poor guy like me?"

"I can!"

Aaron suddenly felt as though someone had stabbed him through the heart. The pain was unbearable.

But out of concern for the little one, he quickly steadied his breathing and reluctantly spent one Magic Point to inspect it.

Name: XXX Race: Dragon (Holy) Magical Energy: 100 (Increases by one point every day. Though its potential is limitless, it is currently exceptionally weak.) Innate Abilities: Flight, ???

"Wow! Wow! Wow! Could you be any more perfunctory?" Aaron slapped his forehead, already accepting that today's sign-in had gone down the drain.

Did he even need to inspect an Attribute Panel like this? What kind of joke was this? He could tell all of that at a glance!

"This system is not being perfunctory. The Young Dragon is currently like this."

"Fine! Then can you at least tell me its evolution path?"

"It can evolve when its Magical Energy reaches the levels of High-level Mage, Mage Master, Archmage, and Holy Magus.

However, due to the influence of the current world, such evolution will manifest as growth. Still, it can freely control its Body Shape and determine its appearance.

Every evolution is a qualitative leap. Aside from greatly increasing its strength, speed, and defense, it will also awaken an innate ability.

In addition, Magic Points can be used to add to its Magical Energy."

Aaron let out a breath of relief. He was fairly satisfied with this growth path.

He gently covered the little one with a blanket, then closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep as well.

The next day, the Alarm Clock rang.

Aaron had just wanted to throw it away when he realized he could not find it. Yet the sound of something shattering still rang out.

Puzzled, he opened his eyes to see what was happening, only to find the little one's right foot planted atop the Alarm Clock. The sight was rather comical.

Cough, cough!

The little one suddenly froze, then immediately pulled back its right leg, clasped its hands behind its back to hide the Alarm Clock, and pretended that nothing had happened.

Seeing this, Aaron did not know whether to laugh or cry. "Although the Alarm Clock is smaller than you, I can still see it perfectly well from this angle."

The little one immediately put on an aggrieved expression. It turned around, picked up the Alarm Clock with both hands, and flapped its wings as it flew before its master, Aaron. Its ears drooped as it looked like it was admitting its mistake and awaiting punishment.

Aaron smiled and stroked its little head, affection flashing through his eyes. "Just this once. Don't let it happen again."

After saying that, Aaron pointed a finger at the Alarm Clock and softly said, "Repair to Original State."

The damaged Alarm Clock returned to its original condition, and he placed it back on the bedside table.

This was the wonder of magic. Although the status of mages would inevitably suffer some impact as technology developed in the future, the uses of magic would always remain irreplaceable.

At the very least, repairing an Alarm Clock required an ordinary person to spend time, money, and effort, while a mage needed only a simple incantation.

"Come on! I'll show you around our home. It's different from when you were still an egg.

Our home may be a little large, so you'd better use that little head of yours to remember it. Don't get lost later."

The little one seemed exceptionally excited. It flew around Aaron several times before landing in his arms.

Perhaps, in its eyes, that was its first home.

"That won't do. When you were an egg, I could still hold you. But now that you've hatched, you're an adorable Young Dragon. When you're not flying, you need to learn to walk and run on your own." Though reluctant, Aaron placed it on the floor and then took it on a detailed tour of Gaius Castle.

The castle had a history of thousands of years, but as the ages changed, it had continually been improved and perfectly incorporated the characteristics of every era.

The bedrooms, kitchen, living room, swimming pool, potion room, storage rooms, and even the treasury were not left out.

The little one followed behind Aaron the entire time, curiously observing everything around it.

More than an hour later, the man and dragon had barely finished touring the castle's landmark areas, and both were a little tired from walking.

"Young Master," Jeans suddenly called out, his gaze toward the little one uncertain.

"What is it, Uncle Jeans? If you have something to say, say it quickly. I still need to take the little one to eat!"

The moment it heard the word "eat," the little one immediately perked up. A glimmer appeared in its innocent eyes.

"That's exactly what I wanted to talk about." Jeans gave a bitter smile. "Your breakfast is ready, but as for the little one's... to be honest, I don't know what to prepare for this new breed of dragon, so..."

The little one's eyes suddenly dimmed, and its expression became somewhat dejected. It was practically about to write Baby is unhappy across its face.

"So, I prepared one serving of everything."

Those words instantly brought the little one back to life at full health. It babbled happily, expressing its thanks to Jeans.

Aaron silently gave Jeans thirty-two thumbs-up. No wonder he was a Butler! He truly left no detail unattended, even thinking of this.
