A Blessing of Peach Blossom Luck? Fleur Delacour Has Someone Behind Her
"Looks like you're doing pretty well here," Aaron said with a smile.
"Working at the Wand Shop is easier than I expected, and the salary is about average," Phoebe said, stretching her back. "There aren't many customers usually, but it gets much busier during the back-to-school season."
"Where is my uncle?"
"Ollivander, please rest upstairs. Since I arrived, he hasn't had to worry about selling Wand. He just needs to keep a record. Unless he encounters a Wand that is not worthy of you, he will personally take action."
"I see, but it's still a strange thing."
Ollivander is getting on in years; he's not like a Great wizard like Dumbledore. His lifespan is estimated to be no more than a hundred years. Having a sales clerk to help him would make his daily work a little easier.
"Is there something you need?" Phoebe poured him a glass of wine. "If you're looking to buy Wand, I can pick one out for you, since your Wand does look rather worn."
"I just came to see Ollivander, after all, the Magic World is not very peaceful right now."
"Hmm?" Phoebe snorted softly, somewhat displeased, "I thought you came to see me!"
Aaron then spat out a mouthful of red liquid.
"Hehe! You can't joke about this!"
"Who's joking with you?" Phoebe gave Aaron a smile, slowly cornering him against the wall. "Have you missed me since we last met a year ago?"
Gollum!
Aaron inhaled the fragrance of the girl's hair, who was three years older than him, and his heart began to race. He swallowed hard.
Damn it! I'm definitely cursed.
"Commander, come out."
Can't the Horse Talisman remove curses? For example, those afflicted by the Peach Blossom Curse?
"The Horse Talisman's healing power isn't omnipotent. Getting drunk, sleeping, or being overly full are all controlled by the user, so they can't be considered negative effects," the leader said gloatingly. "As for the Peach Blossom Luck... are you sure it's a curse and not a blessing?"
Aaron:...
Blessings? Bless your sister!
He might have accepted it two years later, but right now he's just an ungraduated student!
"This question shouldn't be too difficult to answer, right?" Phoebe urged shyly. For a girl like her to ask this question was already a sign that she had put aside her pride.
"Well, that..." Aaron said with an awkward laugh, "Actually, I have a crush on someone."
"Who?" Phoebe asked with interest.
Aaron was speechless for a moment. Could he make up a story about not being able to exist?
"That's a matter of personal privacy, I can't tell you."
"No, you're definitely lying to me." Phoebe chuckled. "We've known each other for quite a while now, and I think I know you pretty well. If there really was someone like that, you wouldn't hesitate now."
"Maybe it really is?" Aaron said, forcing a suggestion.
"Hermione Granger? Or Luna Lovegood?" Phoebe asked meaningfully. Both of them were Aaron's dance partners at the Christmas Ball, so there was a possibility.
"Um... why don't you take a guess?"
"Granger Lovegood Delacour".
"Yes, that's right, it's her. I didn't expect you to guess it so accurately." Aaron said without hesitation, then met the other's ambiguous smile.
Coming to his senses, Aaron gave a bitter smile, feeling utterly devastated.
He was too hasty this time; he should have let her finish pronouncing her name. But in his eagerness to get rid of this troublesome matter, he really didn't think that much about it.
"What a pity, it seems this person doesn't exist!" Phoebe said smugly.
"Sigh!" Aaron sighed softly, quickly adjusting his mindset. "Of all the girls I know, you're the boldest."
"I'm not a student anymore, and the longer it drags on, the more distant the relationship will become."
"The analysis is very insightful, but I'm sorry, I don't want to consider such things right now."
Don't ask me why; I won't tell you even if you do.
"It doesn't matter." Phoebe blinked. "I know you have a lot of secrets, so it's normal for you to be a little busy."
Besides, according to the standards of the Magic World, you still have to wait a few months before you're considered an adult.
"If my parents thought like you, they'd be doomed." Aaron said with a touch of sadness. He had been forced into blind dates by his family for several years, and who could understand his bitterness?
"Would you like me to pay a visit to your home?"
I've only ever met your Butler; I haven't even met your uncle and aunt yet!
"There's absolutely no need for that," Aaron said, extremely excited.
His relationship with Phoebe was just that, but Vico and Lisana would never think that way. They would probably assume any pretty girl they saw was their future daughter-in-law.
"I think it's still necessary," Phoebe murmured. "Don't worry, I won't cause you any trouble. I'll just visit as a friend."
Aaron chuckled. If he believed that, he'd probably be sold out without even knowing it.
Besides, even if he believed it, his parents wouldn't.
The first female friend to visit his home in five years was someone he met during the Triwizard Tournament. It would be abnormal if they didn't have ulterior motives.
"There's really no need for that. I've already been kicked out of the house."
"What?" Phoebe frowned, but then a look of joy flashed across her face. "I don't know why you came here. If we tidy up the back room, we can still squeeze out a room for you."
Upon hearing this, Aaron's forehead creased with a few more black lines. "You're overthinking it. People can still live in my shop."
"So that means you'll be spending the entire holiday at your shop?"
"That's what I was thinking, but now... I suddenly think staying in a hotel is quite suitable." Aaron added after speaking, "A hotel outside of London."
The implication is that he will stay far away during this holiday, at least not in Diagon Alley.
"I understand. So, where exactly are you planning to stay?"
"I don't know."
"It's alright, I can ask Mr. Jeans." Phoebe said calmly, "I think he should be able to tell me."
Aaron almost stumbled and fell to the ground, looking at Phoebe with a bitter expression. "You're very beautiful, one of the top three most beautiful girls I know, but why did you fall for me?"
"I have one-quarter Veela blood, and few men can resist my charm," Phoebe said, looking at him with a subtle expression. "You are the only one of your age group."
"Is that even a reason?" Aaron was speechless. Only those with weak willpower could resist the charm of Veela. Try it on a battle- Auror.
"Of course, it's not just this one. In the three events of the Triwizard Tournament, you helped me a lot and saved me several times."
Dragon, Grindylow, and... Voldemort.
"Please don't misunderstand, it's because my older sister doesn't want the contestants to be in any danger during the competition."
"I only look at the facts. At first, I thought you were just a damn nepotism hire, but you've overturned my perception of you time and time again." Phoebe patiently explained, "It would be hard for any woman not to be tempted!"
Aaron pursed his lips, feeling a headache over his inability to find a place to display his charm.
"I understand what you're saying, but that doesn't mean I have to like you, right?"
"Do you dislike me?" Phoebe asked confidently.
"I don't mind."
"Do you hate me?"
"Uh... that's not what I meant."
"That settles it then." Phoebe shrugged. "You don't dislike me, and you don't look down on me, so why can't you like me?"
Rumble!
Aaron felt a tremendous shock to his soul, as if something was wrong, but he just couldn't put his finger on it.
Ring ring!
The doorbell rang suddenly, and a boy walked in accompanied by his parents.
"I want to buy my son a Wand."
Aaron felt as if he had heard heavenly music. He was now having a headache. This guest was just in time to get rid of Phoebe. It would have been even better if he had come a little earlier.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Ollivander will not be back for another half hour."
"Is that so? Then we'll come back in half an hour."
Aaron stared blankly as the parents led the boy away, a bitter smile creeping onto his lips. "Is what you're doing really appropriate?"
"I will give them a discount, deducted from my salary."
Aaron paused for a moment, then gave her a thumbs up.
Awesome, no wonder he's a hero of Beauxbatons.
"To be honest, it's an honor to be seen by a beauty like you..."
"Are you mocking me?" Phoebe glanced at Aaron. "I might have thought I was a genius before, and that there were few in the Magic World who could compare to me."
"Your existence has shown me what it means to be outmatched; I was terribly wrong."
"Can I finish what I have to say?" Aaron said, half-laughing and half-crying. "It's an honor to be seen by a girl as beautiful as you, but unfortunately, I'm not thinking about dating right now..."
"I can wait," Phoebe said through gritted teeth.
Upon hearing this, Aaron felt a lump in his throat.
It takes immense courage for a girl to speak so resolutely, leaving him unsure how to refuse.
"This is really a difficult situation!" Aaron sighed. "If you don't get to see it, you should know that the future is full of uncertainties."
Phoebe's face flushed slightly; she was confident she understood what Aaron meant.
The only reason is that he might be taken in the future, and all her youth would have been wasted.
Thinking back on everything that happened in the Triwizard Tournament, she knew that she would probably never forget this person for the rest of her life.
"I..."
"Ahem!" Just as Phoebe was about to speak, she was interrupted by a cough.
Ollivander came down the stairs and looked at Aaron with surprise, "When did you get here?"
"I've been here for a while, but I didn't dare disturb you."
"Don't tell me you came to see me, you must have something else on your mind."
Aaron scratched his head sheepishly. "I've been temporarily expelled from the family."
"You've violated the Gaius family's ancestral precepts?" Ollivander asked in surprise. "Really? Weren't you usually very steady?"
"A moment of impulse, coupled with layers of scheming, even Merlin couldn't withstand it!" Aaron said bitterly. "But all that is in the past. I have now taken a neutral position, only without the protection of a family."
It's not too bad; at least I'm safe for now.
"Tell me, what can I do for you?" Ollivander asked earnestly.
"No need, Uncle, with your limited strength, you can't be of any help at all," Aaron said bluntly. "I came here to tell you some good news."
"I've signed a contract with Voldemort, so you can open your shop with peace of mind. No Dark Wizard will bother you."
Ollivander, however, was not happy at all. If Aaron had not been expelled from the Gaius family, the contract would have been signed without any major issues.
But now he's just a homeless little Warlock, with no background, no money, no power, and no connections. He doesn't know how much he paid to make a pact with Voldemort.
"What contract did you sign?"
"Don't worry, I won't lose out."
"Tell me, please don't make this old man feel so distressed."
"I just made a small trade with him using a Potions," Aaron shrugged. "That potion can restore his appearance, and he has no reason to refuse a Wand Shop."
"Anything else?" Ollivander stared intently into Aaron's eyes and said meaningfully, "I'm not senile. Voldemort will never let you go easily if he doesn't have enough bargaining chips."
"Ah..." Aaron hesitated for a moment, then scratched his head with an awkward laugh, "I did make another deal, and if nothing unexpected happens, I'll definitely be facing Voldemort."
However, he won't attack me anytime soon; he'll even have to pretend he doesn't see me if he sees me.
"I know you've always been opinionated, but that's the Dark Lord!" Ollivander said wistfully. "Are you sure you can handle it?"
"I'm absolutely confident," Aaron said confidently. "If you don't believe me, you can ask her. She knows my strength; Voldemort couldn't catch me."
Ollivander turned to look at Phoebe, and seeing that she did not deny it, he breathed a sigh of relief.
"If you have any trouble, you can come to me. I can't help you much, but I do know some people," Ollivander said. After all, he was a master Wand maker and had connections.
"Okay." Aaron waved his hand dismissively, picked up Abei, and walked out of the store.
Ollivander struggled to sit down in the chair. "This kid doesn't cause trouble sometimes, but when he does, it's always big trouble."
"He won't be pregnant, will he?" Phoebe asked worriedly.
"It's safe for now, otherwise he wouldn't have been so relaxed just now," Ollivander said with a forced smile. "Let's talk about your situation first! What were you going to say to him if I hadn't come out?"
"I..." Phoebe hesitated for a while, her face turning as red as a ripe apple. "I don't know, but I won't give up, even if it's just serving him tea and water."
"You!" Ollivander shook his head helplessly. "Luckily you chose him, otherwise you might have suffered a lot of grievances after marrying him!"
"I thought you were going to criticize me!" Phoebe said sheepishly.
"Do I look that cold-hearted?" Ollivander said irritably. "From the moment you came to apply for a job here, I knew why you came. Every time I gave you a day off, you would intentionally or unintentionally go to that store. Do you really think I can't see through anything?"
Is it that obvious?
"What do you think? But I'm still very satisfied with you this past year. I would be 100% in favor of you becoming my granddaughter-in-law."
"We can't rush this. After all, there are so many outstanding girls around him. His parents started preparing for his future a long time ago."
"I'll do as you say," Phoebe said firmly. "I'll do whatever you tell me to do."
"I'll arrange that." Ollivander for a moment. "This afternoon, you and I will go to the Gaius Family to meet Vico and Lisana."
"Once they approve of you, everything else will be fine, but you can't let them know for now."
