Hagrid's warning came a little too late. Almost the moment his words fell, a blazing burst of Dragon Fire carrying an aura of destruction shot toward Abei under everyone's horrified gazes.
Everyone's hearts skipped wildly at the sight.
This was bad. If Aaron found out Abei had been hurt, none of them would get off easy.
However, what happened next finally made their hearts drop from their throats.
As Abei gnawed on the eggshell, it sensed the terrifying heat behind it and instinctively lowered its head. The Dragon Fire skimmed directly over its head, narrowly missing it.
After a ball of fire flew over its head, Abei blankly touched its hat with its right paw. Finding a faint scorch mark on it, it immediately became furious.
Its master's mother had specially prepared these clothes for it. They were among the few enchanted with the Undetectable Extension Charm, and they were also its favorite.
Almost all of its possessions, nearly all its snacks, were inside these clothes. What if they had been burned up?
Crack!
Abei crushed the eggshell in its mouth, turned around angrily, and let out a sound no cat should have made at Norbert, whose mouth was puffing black smoke.
"Roar!"
A faint pressure rapidly spread across the table, and Norbert involuntarily took half a step back.
But it quickly steadied itself and defiantly shuffled a step forward.
So what if it looked imposing? It was a Norwegian Ridgeback, a carnivorous fire dragon, completely different from those grass-eaters.
Wasn't it just a little better-looking? That silly, cute appearance had no intimidation factor at all. It refused to believe it could not win.
"Holy crap! This confirms it—it definitely isn't a cat," Ron said in astonishment.
