"Are we still alive?" Daisy climbed up from the ground and asked uncertainly.
"Probably!" Coulson murmured. "But how did we survive?"
"Loki got what he wanted." Hogun looked at the ground with a complicated expression. The Moonstone Bracelet lay quietly before them, and all thirty-six moonstones were covered in cracks. Hardly a single one remained intact.
Seeing it, everyone seemed to understand why they had not died. This magical artifact had saved their lives.
"Aaron threw it over here. Then he..."
The sound of bullets striking metal suddenly rang out, cutting Daisy off.
Aaron emerged somewhat bedraggled from behind a wall. He had put away Lycoris, and now held a black revolver in his hand.
"I won't insult you by calling you despicable or shameless. If I were in your position, I might have been even more despicable than you." Aaron spoke calmly as the Destroyer turned to face him.
Without much hesitation, energy began gathering beneath its mask again.
"No, Loki, stop!" Thrór shouted. "I'm your target. You can't drag innocent people into this."
Shut up. I'll deal with you later.
Loki cursed irritably and ignored him, instead watching Aaron with interest. He was curious how an alchemist without a defensive magical artifact would deal with the Destroyer's attack.
"So impatient!" Aaron snorted disdainfully. He flicked open the cylinder of Snake Eater, revealing five golden bullets and one empty chamber.
He decisively took out the bullet that was nearly enchanted eight times and had been infused with magic in advance, then loaded it into the chamber.
His defensive artifact was gone. To better fit his role as an alchemist, he could only try his strongest offensive weapon.
Almost the instant the Destroyer fired its energy beam, Aaron pulled the trigger.
The golden bullet spun rapidly through the air. A
