Background / History

Eighteen years before the main story, Xu Yong was one of Shenyun City's outstanding young martial artists and a prospective successor to the General Commander. During the Monster Tide, he entered a formation to defend the city's civilians and led troops against a True Bone great demon. The battle damaged his Dao foundation and left Flame Demon Power within him. Tan Bai fought alongside him; the two used their own bodies as the formation's eyes to protect the city. 74 80 84 174

During his Bone Tempering years, Xu Yong tempered two Extreme Bones, demonstrating that he had pursued a transcendent foundation even before becoming one of his generation's military prodigies.
