Although the Ancestral Witches could break through to the Daluo Golden Immortal realm, their bodies were engraved with the Source Great Dao. With every gesture, the Great Dao accompanied them, and its resonance followed.
The bodies of the Ancestral Witches were formidable beyond measure.
Yet precisely because of this, and because Turbid Qi clouded their Primordial Spirits, their foundations were flawed.
Put simply, attaining Enlightenment of the Dao was extraordinarily difficult—almost impossible!
They would have to cast aside their bodies to balance the Three Flowers of Essence, Qi, and Spirit. Then they would still need to find a way to purge their Turbid Qi and regain clarity.
Yet both prospects were all but impossible.
Have the Ancestral Witches cast aside their bodies?
Their bodies came from Pangu's Blood Essence. Casting those bodies aside would be tantamount to abandoning Pangu's Blood Essence.
Purging their Turbid Qi was difficult too.
The Ancestral Witches had absorbed Turbid Qi even as they formed. By now, it had fused so thoroughly with their blood essence that the two could no longer be separated.
It had become part of their very source and foundation!
How, then, could they purge it?
The only reason they could cultivate at all was that they were born Daluo Golden Immortals.
Otherwise, with their unbalanced Three Flowers of Essence, Qi, and Spirit and Primordial Spirits clouded by Turbid Qi, comprehending the Source Great Dao would have been utterly impossible.
Houtu had it somewhat better. She had absorbed little Turbid Qi while forming—far less, at least, than the other Ancestral Witches.
Perhaps that was why her temperament was so much gentler and softer than theirs.
Of course, that gentleness was only relative to the other Ancestral Witches. Compared with the mild-tempered female Immortals of the Primordial Wilderness, Houtu was still fierce enough
