Background / History

Creation and Pangu’s Legacy

Pangu opened the Primordial World, whose exceptional initial foundation came from the contributions of the three thousand Chaos Godsfiends. Their legacy left it with forty-nine complete Great Daos and all incomplete Great Daos—an extremely rare starting point among the Myriad Realms 436.

The world’s historical account states that Pangu died of exhaustion and transformed his body into all things. His actual fate remains unresolved: the Heavenly Dao has never met him and cannot locate him even through the Source Great Dao 450 684.

The Heavenly Dao emerged before the world’s other beings, originating from the Source Great Dao. Originally its administrator, it assumed control of the world’s authorities after Pangu disappeared. Its control does not amount to ownership; Pangu could reclaim the world instantly if he returned 470 684.

Ferocious Beast Calamity

At the beginning of Bai Yu’s life, Ferocious Beasts dominated the world. Born from the resentments of the three thousand Chaos Godsfiends, they possessed immortal bodies and chaotic, resentment-tainted Primordial Spirits that made them difficult to destroy 2.

The Innate Gods and Demons and the major Innate Races eventually launched large-scale clearing operations. The Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin Clans gained substantial Heavenly Dao Merit from eliminating beasts, laying the foundation for their later struggle for supremacy 347 409.

Victory did not preserve the early world’s abundance unchanged. Expanding races gathered spiritual roots and treasures throughout the land; protected innate formations became important refuges for resources and unborn sacred beings 412.

Three Clans’ Struggle and Dragon-Han Calamity

After the beasts’ defeat, competition shifted toward territory, resources, and Fortune. The Dragon Clan united the Four Seas, while the Phoenix and Qilin Clans divided much of the continents between them. The Heavenly Dao deliberately halted the three leaders’ Fortune-assisted Dao comprehension at ninety percent, encouraging them to seek world unification 536 549 570.

War spread across the Central Continent and East Sea Shore, while Rahula absorbed slaughter and Blood Fiend Aura through the earth veins. The conflict ultimately killed roughly forty percent of the world’s population and burdened the Three Clans with overwhelming Karmic Force 572 596.

The surviving clans withdrew to their ancestral homes. Progenitor Dragon pledged the Dragon Clan to guard the Four Seas’ Eyes, provide clouds and rain, and protect the world as repayment for its debts; Heaven accepted his oath 596.

Dao-Devil War and the New Generation

The Western Continent required extensive restoration after the earlier conflicts. Hongjun spent more than ten thousand Yuanhui Eras repairing its damaged earth veins, though it remained the world’s most barren region 638 645.

A new generation of sacred beings emerged, including the Three Pure Ones, Nüwa, Fuxi, Nether River, Kunpeng, and Zhenyuanzi. Hongjun took the Three Pure Ones as disciples, and his Purple Cloud Palace lectures later attracted major sacred beings from across the world 645 657.

Geography

The Four Seas, five continents, and skies form the Primordial World. Countless blessed lands and hidden realms lie within them, many constituting worlds in their own right 536.

Cosmic Foundation

Complete and Incomplete Great Daos

  • Forty-nine complete Source Great Daos establish the world as a top-tier Grand Cosmos, but do not place it beyond the Grand Cosmos classification 440 493.
  • Incomplete Great Daos provide room for further development. Reincarnation is incomplete at the opening because the Earthly Way and reincarnation have not manifested; Destruction remains incomplete when Bai Yu considers studying it 2 638.
  • Development goal: The world seeks to perfect its incomplete Great Daos. Possessing every complete Great Dao—and ultimately achieving Transcendence—is not guaranteed 541.
  • Later trajectory: Bai Yu notes that, through the Investiture of the Gods Tribulation, only Reincarnation is brought to completion, and not through the Heavenly Dao’s own accomplishment 440.

World Source and Resources

  • The world possesses exceptionally abundant World Source because much of its population and treasure foundation derives from inherited Chaos Godsfiend remnants rather than expensive new creation 473.
  • Pangu’s Primordial Spirit produced the Three Pure Ones, while his Blood Essence produced the Twelve Ancestral Witches. Shattered fragments of the Chaos Godsfiends’ Great Dao Treasures also fell into the world 473.
  • Even after several calamities, low- and mid-grade Innate Spiritual Roots remain plentiful, and high-grade roots are not especially scarce. Top-grade roots are the important shortage 671.
  • Abundant resources make increasing cultivation power comparatively easy; comprehension of the Source Great Dao remains the decisive obstacle 671.

Cultivation System

The Source Immortal Path resonates with the world’s forty-nine complete Source Great Daos and its incomplete Great Daos, aiding practitioners’ comprehension. Its stages strengthen Essence, Qi, and Spirit so that cultivators can eventually bear a Source Great Dao 368 490.

Realm Documented Tier Principal Features
Celestial Immortal Thirteenth–Sixteenth Begins with comprehension of a Source Law; ordinary early Innate Beings are born at this realm 1 330
Profound Immortal Seventeenth Requires entry into the Profound Realm; has no early, middle, or late subdivisions 330
Golden Immortal Eighteenth–Twenty-First Establishes an immortal physical body through the Innate Five Energies 1 330 481
Grand Golden Immortal — Combines an immortal body with an indestructible Primordial Spirit 1
Grand Luo Golden Immortal Begins at Twenty-Sixth Begins comprehending a Source Great Dao; unifies the True Spirit across time 124 516
Primordial Grand Luo Golden Immortal Thirtieth Attains Enlightenment of the Dao and bears a Source Great Dao 326 670

River of Time

  • The River of Time spans the Primordial World and is formed from a trace of the Time Great Dao’s source; it is not the complete Great Dao itself 3 517.
  • The cultivation system grants Profound Immortals permission to enter it briefly. This privilege does not automatically apply in other worlds 517.
  • Early descriptions establish that Profound Immortals can use Karma and Destiny connections to locate and erase enemies through the river, leaving Celestial Immortals unable to escape within the world 1.
  • At the Thirtieth Tier, Bai Yu can perceive the source trace behind the river directly, turning it into an aid for studying Time 517.
  • There is no equivalent native River of Karma 567.

Restrictions and Karmic Ties

  • Practicing the system creates continuing ties of Cause and Effect to the Primordial World. The Heavenly Dao can trace outsiders through those connections 561.
  • Outsiders can acquire a Primordial World Mark. Foundation Reforging makes that bond rootless but does not immediately remove it; later severance requires Thirtieth Tier attainment or Bai Yu’s intervention 564.
  • Bai Yu removes the system’s higher-level techniques from sale because its karmic connections could expose Multiverse City and the Chat Group 560 561.
  • Native development has world-imposed limits, including Twelve-Grade Three Flowers and a top-tier Innate Sacred Foundation. Bai Yu escapes these limits after becoming a Primordial Daluo Golden Immortal 638.

Heavenly Dao Governance

Control of Destiny

  • The Heavenly Dao predetermines the world’s major course. Minor details can change, but overturning the overarching design requires defeating it 507.
  • Its plans already extend to the Witch-Demon Tribulation before the Dragon-Han Calamity begins 507.
  • It can change the world’s future with a thought and reshape the world if it chooses. Its retention of the existing course reflects preference, not inability 508 641.
  • It restricts true Dao attainment and departure from the world. Heavenly Dao Sages receive limited freedom rather than complete independence 457 541.

Sainthood and Administration

  • The nine strands of primordial violet qi in Hongjun’s Jade Plate correspond to nine saint positions—effectively nine administrators of the world 515.
  • Hongjun’s role as Heavenly Dao representative makes him the foremost individual beneath it in authority, though Bai Yu surpasses him in strength 650.
  • The Heavenly Dao grants or withholds exceptional privileges, including the permission that allows Cundi and Receiver to take human form as top-grade spiritual roots 643.
  • Its efforts to weaken Pangu’s legacy include tainting the Twelve Ancestral Witches’ origins and altering superficial remnants. Pangu’s fundamental Dao imprints cannot be erased without destroying the world 684.

Influence Across the Myriad Heavens

Reflections in Other Worlds

  • The Primordial World’s Great Dao aura passively influences newly born worlds, producing similar settings and cultivation traditions across the Myriad Heavens 492.
  • The Lotus Lantern World received unusually strong foundations from this influence without initially incurring a karmic debt 492.
  • Similar reflection worlds cannot become independent Grand Cosmoses: upon advancing, they merge into the original Primordial World 641.
  • The source world’s course precedes the Primordial Wilderness stories found elsewhere; those stories reflect its developments rather than dictate them 641.

Relations with Multiversal Powers

  • Bai Yu’s entry into the Multiverse Chat Group exposed the Primordial World’s coordinates. Its top-tier strength prevented this exposure from becoming the catastrophe it could have been for a weaker cosmos 471.
  • The Heavenly Dao attacked the Chat Group and severed one of its complete Yin-Yang Great Daos; the group concealed this confrontation from Bai Yu 473.
  • The Chat Group cannot open a passage out of the Primordial World without the Heavenly Dao’s permission. Bai Yu’s actual travel relies on the system’s Dimensional Gateway, which the Heavenly Dao initially mistakes for Chat Group transportation 470.

Notable Treasures

  • Chaos Bell, Taiji Diagram, and Pangu Banner — The three Innate Supreme Treasures known to Bai Yu; all derive from Pangu’s Axe rather than being independently nurtured by the world 458.
  • Jade Plate of Creation — Pangu’s unfinished attempt to contain all three thousand Great Daos. Hongjun’s larger fragment can support nine complete Great Dao sources 515.
  • Yellow Zhongli Plum — The only top-grade Innate Spiritual Root Bai Yu obtains after searching the East Sea. He keeps it on Penglai rather than risking its removal from the world 443.
  • Potential treasure capacity — Bai Yu reasons that forty-nine complete Great Daos could support forty-nine single-Dao Innate Supreme Treasures, or one treasure containing all forty-nine 458.

Relationships

  • Pangu — Creator and ultimate authority; his disappearance permits the Heavenly Dao’s rule, but does not remove his claim 684.
  • Primordial Heavenly Dao — Governing intelligence that controls development, cultivation access, and the world’s major historical course 507 684.
  • Bai Yu — Transmigrator reborn as a native Manjusaka. He hopes the world will perfect all three thousand Great Daos so he can study them without searching other cosmoses 1 550.
  • Yang Mei — Reincarnated Chaos Godsfiend who values the world’s exceptional foundation while seeking eventual freedom from it 415 450.
  • Qinghong — Outsider astonished by its forty-nine complete Great Daos; he and Bai Yu agree not to disclose its coordinates 440.
  • Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin Clans — Former contenders for world supremacy whose defeat leaves them burdened by karmic debts and lasting obligations 570 596.
