This time, no one rushed to enter. Instead, they filed into the Purple Cloud Palace in an orderly fashion.
During the First Sermon, the Sage had already said that their seats would remain unchanged from then on.
Who would dare disobey a Sage's words?
Naturally, there was no need to rush into the Purple Cloud Palace, much less scramble for seats near the front.
Previously, the main reason everyone had fought over those six cushions was that they were closest to the Sage.
After hearing the First Sermon, everyone understood that the benefits of listening were the same, no matter how close they sat to the Sage.
As such, there was no need to fight for the front seats.
The cushions were special, of course. There were only six of them in the entire vast Purple Cloud Palace. It was clearly impossible for them to hold no deeper significance.
Yet no one imagined that those six cushions were connected to Sainthood Positions.
Even the Three Pure Ones, Hongjun's Personal Disciples, knew nothing about it.
Since becoming a Sage, Hongjun had never left the Purple Cloud Palace, nor had he ever summoned the Three Pure Ones.
The Three Pure Ones had even thought their master no longer wanted them.
To say they felt neither aggrieved nor apprehensive would clearly have been impossible.
Yet however aggrieved, apprehensive, or even frightened they were, the Three Pure Ones never expressed the slightest dissatisfaction or complaint—not outwardly, and certainly not in their hearts!
They merely thought that perhaps their master had some deeper intention!
Surely he would not truly abandon his disciples?
