Gion's words struck everyone as particularly grating. Momonga drew his katana with a swish, ready to fight, but Ginny had already stepped in front of Gion before he could.
She stared directly into Gion's eyes and said, word by word, "You're getting a little carried away. Brother Gigue's strength isn't something you can question!"
Gion chuckled. As a pampered noblewoman since childhood, she already disdained Ginny's behavior of blindly idolizing a man. She said dismissively, "Say whatever you want. In the end, you're just a young girl blinded by emotion. Wake up, little sister. Your Brother Gigue might not be as great as you think."
Jessica, standing nearby, showed anger on her face. With her straightforward personality, she didn't care about backgrounds anymore and rushed forward, intending to argue with Gion.
Ginny grabbed Jessica's arm. Her strength was immense, and Jessica was pulled behind her almost without any resistance.
Taking out the golden pistol Gigue had given her, Ginny said coldly, "Weren't you here to challenge someone? I'll fight you."
"You?"
Gion crossed her arms, her gaze sweeping over Ginny's slender figure. She said, "Are you stronger than the person just now?"
"You'll find out when we fight, won't you?"
Gion recalled the speed Ginny had unintentionally displayed earlier and nodded. She pointed Konpira, which she held, at Ginny and said, "Make your move. Let me see your strength."
Ginny said no more. She lifted her leg and unleashed a Rankyaku, sweeping it out. Gion sidestepped to avoid it, looking at the crack on the ground left by the Rankyaku. She nodded slightly, thinking to herself, The power is good, but the speed isn't quite enough yet.
When she looked at Ginny again, she found that Ginny's figure had already disappeared from her sight.
However, Gion wasn't flustered at all. She had awakened Observation Haki long ago. Under its perception, she quickly sensed Ginny's position.
Bang, bang! Two gunshots rang out. Two bullets flew from behind Gion. Without even looking, she swung her sword with one hand behind her, directly slicing the incoming bullets in half.
She turned around gracefully and said to Ginny, who was not far behind her, "Little sister, your Soru is already quite skilled. Just this alone, I admit you're much stronger than the person just now."
Kashou, watching from the crowd, had a face as red as a beet, feeling utterly embarrassed.
Ginny, however, didn't take his words to heart at all. With Gigue as her goal, she wouldn't be pleased by such cheap praise.
She bit her lip lightly, kneeling on one leg, the gun in her hand still smoking. She thought to herself that this woman was much more formidable than she had imagined.
Her Rankyaku wasn't very skilled to begin with, and Gion clearly excelled in speed. It was expected that her attack would be dodged.
Therefore, her Rankyaku was just a feint from the start. Marksmanship was what she was best at, as bullets were much faster than her Rankyaku.
She had used Soru just now to find the best shooting position, but Gion had easily seen through it, wasting two bullets.
She had to remember that her bullet count was limited. Once depleted, she would have to resort to hand-to-hand combat against Konpira in Gion's hand, which was clearly a very disadvantageous situation for her.
Gion raised her chin, a charming smile curling at the corner of her lips. She said, "Come to think of it, this open area is indeed not very fair for you who uses a gun. I won't give you another chance like just now. Why don't you just surrender? It won't look good if you get hurt later~"
Ginny snorted coldly and slowly straightened her body, saying in a chilling voice, "You don't need to worry about that. Who wins and who loses is still up in the air!"
Gion stretched lazily, subtly showcasing her proud curves, and said in a languid voice, "Alright, alright. Then let's continue."
As soon as she finished speaking, Ginny once again used Soru, flashing and closing the distance to Gion in an instant.
Gion hadn't expected a gunner like Ginny to not try and create distance, but instead engage her, a swordswoman, in close combat. She immediately laughed, "What? You seem a bit too impatient. Fighting me in close quarters is not a wise choice."
As she spoke, she flipped Konpira in her hand and fiercely swung the flat of the blade towards Ginny's abdomen. This blow was incredibly powerful. If it had landed, Ginny would likely have been incapacitated immediately.
But Ginny did something that made everyone present gasp in astonishment. She reached out with one hand to meet the incoming Konpira, grabbed it firmly, and managed to hold the blade tightly in her hand.
The result of this action was that the sharp blade cut through her fair, tender fingers. Blood dripped down the blade onto the ground. Gion's eyes widened, and she exclaimed in shock, "Are you crazy! Aren't you afraid of becoming crippled?"
If Ginny hadn't controlled her strength just then, with the sharpness of the Famous Sword Konpira, cutting off a few fingers would have been an easy matter.
Gion broke out in a cold sweat. She hadn't expected Ginny, a seemingly delicate girl, to be so ruthless towards herself.
Even though the hand gripping the blade was bleeding profusely, Ginny didn't even flinch. A smile even appeared on her face, and she said softly, "What is this small injury compared to the pain I've endured before?"
In Gion's widening pupils, Ginny punched her squarely in the stomach. The powerful force sent her flying backward, crashing heavily onto the ground.
Ginny shook her bloody hand forcefully and muttered to herself, "You dared to insult my Brother Gigue. You have to pay a price!"
Gion, clutching her stomach with one hand and using Konpira to prop herself up on the ground with the other, coughed violently a few times before quickly recovering.
A wisp of black slowly receded from her abdomen. When Momonga and the others watching noticed this, their expressions turned grim. Kashou said with an ugly expression, "Damn it! She's awakened Armament Haki too. Ginny's attack just now was canceled out by Haki!"
Kashou's mood became even more complicated at this moment, because it meant that he, a grown man, hadn't even managed to force Gion's Armament Haki to awaken, which was like another slap to his face.
Gion didn't even glance at him. She patted the dust off her clothes, her expression becoming even colder.
She had awakened Armament Haki, but its strength was average. Ginny's attack just now wasn't canceled out as Kashou claimed; at the very least, she could still feel a sharp pain in her abdomen.
This punch also ignited Gion's temper. She once again assumed a sword-drawing stance, clearly intending to end this match.
Ginny had witnessed Gion's sword energy and knew she couldn't dodge it, but she still raised her pistol without fear, aiming the muzzle at Gion.
