Sanzu Amado looked at him. "It's not that I like working. Lord Torikaze saved my daughter's life, so I have to work for him in return. That's my principle."
"Fine, fine, you're stubborn as a mule. There's no getting through to you about this."
"It's a shame you didn't go. Akeibi's performance onstage was a huge success. Everyone in Cloud Palace was cheering."
Sanzu Amado smiled. "I told you she could do it. She's never been inferior to anyone. It was only her illness that held her back, leaving her bedridden during the years when she should have been shining."
"Whenever I think about that time, I can't calm my mind. Even now, I can't."
Amado patted him on the shoulder. "It'll get better after a while. Time will wash everything away."
Could time really wash everything away? Sanzu Amado did not think so. His wife's passing was still impossible for him to forget, and as time went on, it only weighed more heavily on him.
"By the way, did you come here just to comfort me?"
Amado nodded. "Of course. You're all alone at home with no one to keep you company, so I thought I'd come check on you, have a few drinks, that sort of thing."
"But you weren't home, so I figured you had to be here. Sure enough."
Sanzu Amado laughed. "My life is usually just two points and one line: the factory and home. I hardly have any other routine."
Amado frowned. "That won't do. If this goes on for too long, you'll turn into a work machine. Life needs all kinds of experiences to enrich and nourish it."
"How about this? When you have time off this week, let Akeibi show you around Konoha properly."
