Their lives and deaths did not seem all that important to Torikaze.
Or rather... they were no longer that important to the current Torikaze.

Naruto and Xin were immediately thrown into a flurry.
"Xin, hold the little swallows for now. I'll go find them something to eat!"
Naruto had barely started to run out before Torikaze grabbed him and pulled him back.
"Kid, do you even know what these swallows eat?"
Naruto shook his head. "I don't know..."
Torikaze slapped his forehead. "Then why were you running off?"
"To find Dad and have him help."
