From the moment he hung up the phone to the moment Hashirama appeared before them, less than a minute had passed.
"Looks like Shishou has gotten a lot stronger too."
Hashirama nodded. "Yeah, but that's not what I wanted to tell you. Come on, come on. I'll take you to your backyard and show you my new ability."
Torikaze raised an eyebrow slightly at that. Wasn't Shishou already unmatched in Wood Release? What other ability could he have?
Could it have been something he gained upon reaching the Six Paths Level?
He looked at Chisato, whose eyes held the same confusion, but the two of them still followed Hashirama.
When they reached the undeveloped area of the backyard training grounds, Hashirama circled around for a while before finding a fairly sturdy tree.
"Watch closely. This is my new ability."
Hashirama slapped the thick tree. Several withered branches burst from the ground and coiled around its trunk.
The entire tree visibly began to wither, its leaves rustling down and carpeting the ground.
Its bark began to peel away as well. The once-lush tree suddenly lost all signs of life, as though it had died.
Then, green light bloomed from Hashirama's hand. The dead branches wrapped around the trunk immediately became vibrant, sprouting dense foliage.
At the same time, the tree that had already withered to death somehow regained its vitality!
Tender buds began to emerge from its branches again, growing into leaves.
Before long, it had returned to its former appearance.
Torikaze and Chisato were both stunned.
For a long while, neither could figure out what had just happened.
Chisato was the first to ask, "Shishou! What kind of ability is that? How did you do it? Don't tell me you got it when you reached the Six Paths Level!"
