Background / History

Thrones began descending from the sky amid Spirit Qi Recovery, often accompanied by violent Attribute phenomena. The first documented Thunder Throne fell onto a mountain near Chuan City, wreathed in silver-gray lightning and radiating an ancient, forbidden majesty 171. By this point, seven Thrones had descended within Xia Kingdom, though only the Thunder Throne had been publicly located; the other six had vanished 175.

Their arrival rapidly turned them into strategic resources. A masterless Throne was coveted as a path to overwhelming power, while the possibility of an aberrant obtaining one was considered a major threat to humanity 172 175. The Spirit Association consequently sought to locate, seal, and regulate Thrones before unfit or hostile claimants could use them 172 219.

The revelation that a Lord's Throne could be seized by killing its holder transformed the global struggle into open conflict. Thrones became prizes in battles between Lords and Usurpers, with newly recognized Lords especially vulnerable before they learned to control their inherited power 239 243.

During the later Spirit Qi Recovery, Thrones across the world responded to the surge of spirit qi, melted, and entered their Lords' bodies. Their former patterns became part of internal cave abodes, while their wielders gained a deeper understanding of their elemental authority 388 389.

Appearance

A Throne's form reflects its Attribute, but all Thrones are characterized by overwhelming pressure and concentrated divine power.

Properties and Rules

Descent and Recognition

Thrones descend as immense Attribute events, sometimes choosing a Lord immediately and sometimes remaining available for recognition.

• A Throne may reject an unsuitable claimant; Fang Yi was repelled by the Thunder Throne because it had already chosen a gourd vine 172.
• Recognition is dangerous even for compatible wielders. Lin Yiyi repeatedly neared death during the Gold Throne's trial before being accepted 242.
• Attribute affinity can affect recognition, though it does not guarantee success. Fang Yi gave Lin Yiyi a Metal Attribute template to meet the Gold Throne's basic threshold, but her temperament and resolve still determined the result 213.
• A successful Throne recognition grants authority comparable to the Adamantine Body Realm, also called the Third Realm 198 221.
• Different wielders can develop different abilities from the same Throne, based on their own understanding and control 280.

Attribute Authority and Sequence

Thrones embody extraordinarily pure and tyrannical Attributes. Their sequence and designation number determine their innate hierarchy.

• A lower Sequence and lower designation number indicate a stronger Throne 228.
• First Sequence Thrones possess ultimate High-level Attributes and vastly surpass lower-sequence Thrones in both intensity and suppressive force 230.
• Second Sequence Thrones can possess world-destroying power; the original Thunder Throne was among the highest-ranking Second Sequence Thrones 228 287.
• A Throne's sequence does not alone determine its Lord's combat strength. Personal skill and mastery of Attribute power remain decisive 250.
• First Sequence power can forcibly assimilate and suppress other Thrones, as Fang Yi's Yang God Throne did to the Quicksand Throne 274.

Usurpation and Absorption

Killing a Throne Lord allows the victor to take control of the defeated Lord's Throne.

• After Fujino Koji's death, the Earth Throne condensed into a miniature form and was absorbed by Fang Yi 239.
• Seized Thrones can be refined for spiritual energy, stronger Attributes, or potentially new Cultivation Methods 250 301.
• Absorbing a Throne does not necessarily grant its original combat ability; the result depends on the recipient's own mastery and the Throne's special nature 301.
• Lords who focus only on devouring additional Thrones without developing their original powers cannot fully display their potential 275.

Spirit Qi Recovery Transformation

At the onset of full Spirit Qi Recovery, Thrones reacted to the world's renewed spiritual energy.

• Lords sensed their Thrones being drawn toward the incoming spirit qi and summoned them externally 388.
• The Thrones melted into vast spirit qi, which entered their Lords' bodies 389.
