Within the Underground Library of the Chu Imperial Palace, Yan Kuan held Chu Yue as they came before a bookshelf. With a point of his finger, a dark hole leading deep underground appeared. The two of them then entered it.

The old man carrying the oil lamp seemed to have sensed something. He silently doubled back, but by the time he arrived, everything had returned to normal. Finding nothing, he shook his head, patrolled the area once more, and only then returned to where he had been practicing.
"Where is this? How could there be such a place beneath the imperial city?"
In the dark passage, Chu Yue felt herself continuously descending. Her heart was filled with confusion and curiosity. She had never expected that beneath the imperial city where she had lived for most of her life, such a secret place was hidden.

Yan Kuan briefly explained the origins of the place. The passage spiraled downward, and after descending some forty or fifty meters, they finally arrived. Ancient traces mottled the surroundings, while the four walls were made of Diamond Rock as hard as iron. A Night Pearl had been embedded overhead every thirty feet or so.
"This is an ancient tomb?"
Cold mist surged about. Chu Yue felt a chill seep into her body and instinctively pressed closer into Yan Kuan's arms. Yan Kuan withdrew the hand that had been forming a seal and naturally held her tighter. Then the two headed toward the brighter end of the ancient tunnel.
Only their faint footsteps echoed through the empty passage. In this nearly sealed environment, the sound seemed especially eerie
