Using such Secret Treasures was simply too much for them. Someone stepped forward, carried the children away, and tended to them carefully.

The One-Armed Elder spoke. That simple sentence said it all. Reality was this cruel. Children born in Primal Emperor City had to go through these things. Staying alive was already a blessing.

The distant Void churned violently, and vaguely, a furious roar seemed to echo between heaven and earth.
