At the source of dark Weirdness, cries reached Yan Kuan's ears from the banks of the Soul River, bewitching and sinister, intermittent and faint.
The scene not far away kept shifting. Blood-stained whirlwinds howled, sweeping up sand and dust that filled the sky, yet not a single grain fell into the Soul River. It was unknown whether they were being blocked or simply lacked the right to enter.
After the wind and sand rose from the ground, remnants were revealed, still stained with blood and horrifying to behold. They had been left behind by former powerhouses of the Myriad Heavens who had tried and failed to charge into the Soul River.
Like the Willow Deity of old, who had once sought to pass through the Dark Prison and charge into the Ultimate Ancient Land to settle the Dark Source. In ancient times, there had also been powerhouses unwilling to be Sacrificed time and again. They had attempted to storm the Soul River End and step onto the Weird Plateau for battle, but all of them had failed.
Black Light shone brilliantly as dust and sand swirled. The Soul River flowed silently. How many secrets did this place conceal? The thick fog obscured everything once more.
