Background / History

Tang San is remembered as the founder of the Tang Sect and as the figure who inherited the Sea God position ten thousand years earlier. The Tang Sect’s later Blue Silver Grass cultivation tradition is modeled after his legacy, although Tang Feng notes that Tang San’s Martial Soul was the Blue Silver Emperor rather than ordinary Blue Silver Grass. 1 2

In the God Realm, Tang San holds both the Sea God and Shura Divine Thrones. He seeks to shape his daughter Tang Wutong’s future and initially plans to use her descent to Douluo Continent to obtain the Soul Beast Clan’s fortune and influence the Child of Destiny. When Tang Feng becomes a more promising target, Tang San shifts his focus toward controlling him through Wang Dong’er. 90 158

Tang San seals Tang Wutong’s God Realm memories and is accused of splitting her soul to create Wang Dong’er as a separate personality. Personality

Tang San presents himself as honorable and motivated by his daughter’s future, but repeatedly attempts to control Wang Dong’er/Tang Wutong and manipulate Tang Feng’s relationships. He refuses Tang Feng’s rejection of the Tang Sect and reacts strongly when Tang Feng chooses Gu Yuena and Zhang Lexuan rather than accepting his preferred match. 85 90 93

He is highly prideful, particularly over the idea of a mortal challenging a god. Tang Feng’s ability to strip his divine equipment, destroy his Avatar, and injure him causes Tang San to become increasingly hostile and determined to eliminate Tang Feng before he can fully ascend. 86 87 100 143
